Wrote a thesis on this years ago...8 teams...5 power conf champs make as long as they are ranked top 12...2 spots go to the highest ranked teams not already in, no more than 2 teams from one conf...top ranked non power conference team gets the 8th spot as long as they are ranked top 15...that's 8 teams would look something like this...

me personally I would have the 1st round of the playoffs go back to yester year where the old bowl rivalrys from the past could come back...the first round would remain the same Jan 1 every year according to conf affiliation...

Orange Bowl...ACC (Clemson) vs. Big 12 (Oklahoma)

I agree,,You have no idea what anybody would do against anybody on a given day,,Somebody could go off and beat everyone and who knows who wins it,,Or vice versa etc etc

agree as well,,,,,schedule your conference games but the other 4 games will be scheduled on a year to year basis based on the previous years records,,,,Only problem is some of these sister needs these games to keep thier programs afloat financially....Maybe one sister game a year to help out but other 3 has to be a "real" opponent and not someone scheduled 10 years from now,,,,
