Angelina Jolie Pitt's directorial feature "By the Sea" is criminally dull because it mistakes artiness for artfulness and, amid its expensive-looking glamor shots, forgets to be about anything at all. Aside from one five-minute sequence involving a peephole in a hotel wall, "By the Sea" offers all the drama and insight of a two-hour De Beers commercial.

As "Galaxina" is to "Star Wars," so is "Divergent" to "The Hunger Games." Please? stop.

Vacation 6 out of 10 if and only if you're a fan of the original. Most of the movie was stupid, but a few scenes had me rolling and carried this just above mediocrity.
