On theinsiders 2003 all-american team comprised of 24 players, 5 are committed to USC
. Oklahoma was the closest with 3 players, LSU and Penn St. each had two players. Pretty amazing that USC landed over one fifth of the high school all americans.
Ted Ginn was the National Player of the Year OSU got a great one! :thumb:
Pos. Name Home Committed
QB Rhett Bomar Grand Prairie (Texas) Oklahoma
Many worthy candidates here but Bomar has the most upside of any QB in the nation. He has all the physical and mental attributes you want in a QB and he's also a superior athlete.
RB Adrian Peterson Palestine (Texas) Oklahoma
Our No. 1 RB from the pre-season on. Peterson rushed for 4,366 yards and 54 TDs over the past two seasons despite being a marked man. He has it all - size, power, elusiveness and blazing speed.
FB Brian Toal Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep
Is there a better fullback in the country? Toal could easily star on either side of the ball in college at FB or MLB. That may be the second toughest decision he has to make.
WR Fred Davis Toledo (Ohio) Rogers USC
A freak talent with amazing size and speed. Very versatile as well as he also returned kicks, played SS and RB. Davis has already graduated high school.
WR Calvin Johnson Tyrone (Ga.) Sandy Creek Georgia Tech
The only thing Johnson lacks is blazing speed. He has everything else and than some. Johnson is deadly in the red-zone with an NFL body right now.
ATH Early Doucet St. Martinville (La.) LSU
The most electrifying prospect from Louisiana since Kevin Faulk. Doucet will make the full-time switch to WR like Peter Warrick and Michael Clayton did. He has amazing natural instincts for the game.
TE Zach Miller Phoenix (Az.) Desert Vista Arizona State
Easily the nation's finest tight end prospect. Super hands, speed and blocking ability. Miller is also a very good defensive end. He will join his brother at Arizona State.
OL Jeff Byers Ft. Collins (Co.) Loveland USC
The nation's No. 1 prospect. Byers could play any position on the offensive line but will likely land at center or guard. He's very advanced for someone out of high school. Byers is best OL prospect in quite a few seasons.
OL Alex Fletcher Melville (N.Y.) St. Anthony's Stanford
Like Byers, Fletcher can play guard or center at the next level. And like Byers he is smart, physical and has great feet. At this stage he's a dominating drive blocker.
OL Leon Hart Columbia (S.C.) Spring Valley Auburn
Hart is super quick, physical and athletic. He has great footwork and those long arms coaches covet in tackles.
OL Greg Harrison Shenandoah (Pa.) Valley Penn State
Harrison is a fluid tackle that moves very well that can beat you physically or with finesse. He is quick off the ball, a dominating drive blocker, and very effective in space.
OL Thomas Herring Los Angeles (Calif.) Fremont USC
Herring is a tremendous athlete who plays tight end and defensive end but we feel will end up as an offensive tackle. He has great athleticism, size and strength.
DE Charles Johnson Hawkinsville (Ga.) Georgia
Plain and simple Johnson is an incredible athlete with great speed and quickness off the edge. He can flat out do it all - stuff the run, rush the passer or chase people down.
DE Jeff Schweiger San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian USC
The bottom line with Schweiger is that he just has an incredible motor. He's a high energy guy that gives you everything he has on every single play. Schweiger will surprise you with his speed and quickness.
DT Demario Pressley Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley
Pressley is a force in the middle, commanding double and even triple teams at the high school level. He plays the run very well and is also an excellent pass rusher.
DT Glenn Dorsey Gonzales (La.) East Ascension LSU
Often overlooked because he committed so early to LSU. Another DL that plays his tail off on every down. Dorsey is extremely strong, especially his lower body (600+ pound squat).
LB Willie Williams Miami (Fla.) Carol City
Williams has more upside than any linebacker in this year's class. He has superior speed and quickness and great football instincts. Williams is an attacker, whether it be rushing the QB or chasing down a RB. He's also a fericous hitter.
LB Keith Rivers Lake Mary (Fla.) USC
At this stage Rivers is a little more advanced than Williams because of his ability to cover. But like Williams, Rivers is a great playmaker on defense. He can run and hit as well as anyone in the country.
LB Dan Connor Wallingford (Pa.) Strath Haven Penn State
Connor and Toal are football clones. Connor could star on either side of the ball at Penn State (FB or MLB). He's a throwback defensively that plays the run and pass equally well.
ATH Brandon Miller Colquitt (Ga.) Miller County
Miller is the best "big" athlete in the country. He played RB, FB, WR, TE, DE, LB and returned kicks this past season. Miller is good enough to play WR, LB or DE at the next level. He's just an amazing athlete that can really motor.
S Andrew Kelson Houston (Texas) Lamar Texas
Kelson emerged as the No. 1 safety this season. He has the speed of a safety and the size of a linebacker. In fact, Kelson may grow into a linebacker at the next level.
S Kyle Jackson Neptune Beach (Fla.) Fletcher Florida
Jackson is a super free safety prospect. He is a playmaker defensively that is always around the ball making things happen.
CB Ted Ginn, Jr. Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville Ohio State
Ginn is our National Player of the Year. He scored 40 touchdowns and scored five different ways this past season. Ginn has incredible cover skills and speed and could play on both sides
(CB/WR) at Ohio State. He's also a potential future Olympian (200 meters).
CB Marcus Walker Waco (Texas) Oklahoma
Walker is your prototype cover corner with great speed and he can support the run. Untested at the high school level over the past two seasons because teams simply didn't throw his way. That's called respect.
