;) (just kidding)

Congrats to THE Ohio State University and to the Big 10. And congrats to a 34-game win streak in this day and age. Finally a great nat'l championship game.

Really happy for Kosar and the rest of the Buckeye fans who have class. But their not the ones here tonight. :D

When ND gets their next nat'l championship, I only hope that I have better plans than to celebrate with my computer.

264 days 'til the Kickoff Classic!!!!

Bobby,

Thanks a lot man, appreciate it. Just logged on for the first time since the game, and the tenor of the threads(just briefly scanned most of them) is about what I expected, with the usual suspects grousing and whining.

Above all, it was a game for the ages, literally one of the best college football games ever played. It had absolutely everything!

The side cover was never threatened after the first qtr, so I have to assume that most of the whining gestated from pure hate of Ohio State. Not surprising, given the last 10 weeks or so around here. Pretty sad, really, but again, not surprising.

I'm sure(hope) it's been brought up somewhere or other here, but the game was essentially over with 2:30 left when Gamble got blatantly held on a third down play (oh wait, it wasn't called). Strangely enough, on the same exact play, Gamble caught the ball (against all odds after being mugged on the play) in bounds, and it was called out of bounds. That would have been it. Game over whiners. Final 17-14.

But you know what, even after seeing instant replays of the horrible non-calls, it was out of my mind as fast as it came into my mind. There was a game to play, and it was going on, and those were the breaks. I would strongly hope that no OSU fans would have come in here whining about those non-calls as *they* wouldn't have been what cost *them* the game either.

I saw a comment here or there about how OSU got lucky because Miami turned it over 5 times. WTF????? Did anybody see those turnovers? Did Miami gently lay the ball on the ground to make it easier for OSU to take it? Lucky?????

OSU got incredible pressure on Dorsey all game. Nobody has ever done that. Ever. His fumble was obviously caused by unexpected pressure. So was his first interception. His second one was a bad pass (isn't making good passes a part of the game?) that the over-hyped Andre Johnson (shut down by a 2 way player that had never played cornerback before game 4 of this year) couldn't handle. Too hot to handle. Dorsey got sacked 6 times, after getting sacked 8 times in his previous 12 games.

Here is what people don't understand about football, just as they didn't when Oklahoma dominated Florida State a few years ago. Defense and special teams MORE THAN equal offense. Period.

Y'all want to talk about luck? How many points do you figure Ohio State left on the field? Let's see: one failed fake field goal that would have been a chippy (3 pts), one missed 42 yrd field goal(3pts) (that Nugent has made all year..don't even mention Sievers missed 50 yarder), Bucks had first and goal from the 5 and got picked on first down..still got a field goal out of it because of Maurice steaing it back...(4pts).....

Seems to me that Miami dodged a lot of bullets before they even made it into overtime.

I saw briefly a thread that somebody posted about Miami whining. That couldn't be farther from the truth. Almost without exception, (D-coordinator Mike Stoops, who sniveled just like a lot of you guys) Miami is and was a class act in regard to how this game developed. Each and every one of them, including Coker, Dorsey, Winslow, Walters, Vilma, Payton, Johnson, Parrish, Rolle, Sikes and several others, all, without exception, saw the game for what it was. A classic where each team had numerous chances to seal the game and didn't, and when it came down to a defensive stop, only Ohio State was up to the task.

OHhhhhhhh...........hhhhhhhhh

IIIIIIIIII.........OOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

ps... bluechip, why aren't you coming out to Vegas? If by any chance lodging is an issue, get with me through Jack...

Glad to see that you enjoyed yourselves. Was more glad that OSU won once I saw the Browns give up the game. Cleveland fans deserve better fate than they been given.

I already brought up the point about the out of bounds call. As things turned out, I'm happy it happened as that was the first non-ND, Bears game that I've been a fan of in awhile (Not cheering because I got the backdoor cover, but rather of watching a team that stepped up to challenge after challenge. The 4th and 11 play in OT was the best play of the game)

I'm not coming to Vegas, not because of lodging (Rio loves me!!!), but because I'm a CPA and will be working about 90 hours on the two weeks that the Super Bowl is sandwiched between. Would like to meet the gang someday, so let me know if you're ever going to another ND game and we can hook up.

Congrats again!!!!

Brandon Lloyd of Illinois made that catch in OT on 3rd down. OSU still has double OT to play vs Illinois.

National Championship pending.
