I agree but not as much as I used to. Everyone has gone almost primarily shotgun so it makes sense to stay in it even in short yardage. I guess there's always still the threat of the new version of triple option...RPO...hand it off, keep it, pass it type thing.

What I can't stand is the legality of the "Bush Push" but since its legal....I almost wonder how long before we see a new version of the "Wildcat"...why get your QB hurt...just put a big back in that makes sure he is very comfortable w taking snaps from center....Sneak it w a couple backs pushing him.

Snyder at K-St did this often w his QB. Get down inside the 3 on 2nd Down for example....QB sneak/push his ass little by little til you get in. I think that will be a new trend except not wanting to risk your starting QB...and most starting QB's aren't very comfortable under center....and aren't as big as RB's...get a specialist guy and push his ass in even if it takes 2-3 plays to do it.
