Good Morning,
This is my first post at this fine forum as I have decided to migrate to a "solid/respectful" board away from Talksport which after 5+ years as a member has become just to cluttered with BS.
On to the pigskins. Checking in this morning from my home in Pittsburgh, PA. Snow falling, 27 degrees and feels like 19 with the wind. Temp supposed to drop a few degrees throughout the afternoon and snow to continue to fall lightly all day.
The field is and has been an icy/muddy mess for the past two months. I am a diehard Steeler fan but there is no way they get my $$$ today. The Steeler "D" is still struggling vs. the pass and they have two starters abscent today. Although, Chad Scott is no great loss in the DBF and it may be good he is hurt. I just can't see laying a TD+ on a bad field in cold weather with a suspect D in a game that, IMO, will be a grind it out type game. In addition, I think the Brownie tosser K. Holcumb may be better suited than Tim Couch to play in this atmosphere and will be no fall off at all. Willie Green has started coming around a bit but not against this run D (Even without K. Bell) an not on this field.
I just can't back either team in this game (I will be there). If I was strong armed into a lean, it would be to grab what IMO appears to be generous points with the Brownies +8. If anything at all, I may make a small play on Under 41. One thing you can take to the bank, FG's will be few and far between as Heinz field is a woeful place to kick in good conditions let alone the snow, ice, and mud. Skippy (Pgh's kicker) will have his first tuff day as a Steeler. You should see a few 4th and short attempts inside the 30-35 yard line that will go unsuccessful and turn in to loooong field going the other way. In addition, Extra Points aren't a lock either.
Yes, Under it is for me in a Small Play as I see a 14-10 type game.
