Preface: Bowl Picks/Plays so far.... Navy (W), UTEP (L), USM (L).

These two games stand out to me. I am curious to hear you guys' thoughts.

Minn/Va: Va just lost both coordinators to head coaching jobs at other schools. I expect this to negatively impact continuity on both sides of the ball for UVA. Even without that, I think Minny's run game (and overall offense) is too stiff for a fairly mediocre UVA team. Another indicator is UVA iis 1-4 on the road this year with the lone win being a squeaker of sorts at a very bad Syracuse team. On the other hand, Minn was 3-2 on the road and scored even when they lost. My play: Minn -3.5 (-112)

Mizz/SoCar: Miizz was 1-3 on the road, SoCar was 2-2 with wins at Tenn and a fairly decent Arkansas team late in the year. Mizz---with an already porous secondary and pass defense---had their senior defensive captain (a safety) arrested and suspended for the game and a starting corner believed to be academically ineligible for the game. Spurrier should pass the ball well on Mizz while Mizz should be able to run on SC. SC really came on during the last part of the year (minus the season ending loss to Clemson). My play: SC -3.5 (-109)

Mizzou lost 3 of its last 4 (all road games losses) so the info above is a bit off. Their total road record was 2-3. I just don't like them coming into a bowl game on a downward trend. I'd take S.C.

What part is off? Here is Mizzou's schedule:

Ark St W 44-17
New Mexico L 45-35
Troy W 52-21
Texas L 51-20
at Okla St W 38-31
Iowa St W 27-24 OT
Nebraska W 41-24
at Kansas L 13-3
at Colorado L 41-12

Baylor W 31-16
at Kansas St L 36-28

To be precise, Ark St was a neutral site game IIRC.
