Game of the year or the L### word

Game of the year or the L### word

Scott;

I posted here on this web site that I thought the best bet of the year would be the Dallas cowboys against the Texans.

Everything that I predicted came true:

- Houston would not be able to run
- David Carr would get mugged
- Dallas would run the ball down the Texans throat

I lost $1000.00 (10 units. My normal bet on an NFL game is 2 - 5 units. Today I am up $3740.00 in the NFL.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you can recover (I did), but the long time guys in this forum are correct you have to stick to a money management system to win. I was painfully reminded of it myself this year (I lost $330 in week one of the NFL & I went 6-3).

Two other things to remember

- In football unlike hoops one turnover can destroy a bet even when your obviuosly on the right side. 3 or 4 turnovers like the Rams had or the cowboys in week one on the road will kill you.

- Its been said in this forum many times, but I'll repeat it again DO NOT BET ON A STREAK TO END! YOU CAN WIN MANY TIMES BETTING ON A STREAK TO CONTINUE, BUT ONLY ONCE ON IT TO END.

Good Luck to you  (sh*T happens) & Props to the forum for supporting Scott, rather than bashing him.

Our goal is to beat the man.

Sorry about your loss, Scott. I had the Bucs +9 and under 49.5 in a two-game teaser. However, I admire the justo to which you stuck by your pick in the faces of all the naysayers. Therefore, when the Bucs got the touchdown to go up 12 and went for two and didn't get it, I knew you actually had a chance to cover the one and a half, if Warner and the O-line would have gotten their shit together. I was really hoping the Rams would come back, letting us both win.

I've been using a new system this year and it has netted me $1700 to date (I started with an initial deposit of $20). I used to try and analyze games and pick a side or total. It worked fairly successfully, making a small profit the last couple of years. This year, however, I try to find games that I think will be close and tease the dogs up.

I won this weekend, picking Carolina, Browns, and Saints, knowing that all of these teams not only had a good chance to cover, but also win the game. With so much parody in the NFL, the margin between winning and losing is becoming smaller and smaller. Therefore, why not give yourself the best chance to win by giving yourself as many points as possible. I rarely bet favorites unless they are playing the Bengals, Ravens, or Lions. Every other team has a good chance to win each week against anyone else. MY NEW STRATEGY: GIMME POINTS

i was up about 5 units after betting the whole year (fall to spring) with a couple breaks here and there......started bad, finished good in college football, had a couple good and bad streaks in college basketball, and ended up in the spring winning on baseball.....

so far this year i am up a little thanks to doing great in baseball -- but stinking in football.....only up about 4 units total......

so a year and a half playing money management, I am up 9 units....lol....not too much, but i feel i am learning......

Why did I lose this bet ? I thought I had everything covered. GM if you say because I said Lock I am going to hunt yu down.

Scott,

I don't know why I'm the target of your anger, but if that's comforting to you, so be it. If you think I am the type to come back here and say I told you so you have me wrong. I have no malice towards you whatsoever...I don't even know you.

I don't wish for any gambler to lose. Anyone can lose any bet at any time. It happens and nothing surprises me much in this sport anymore. I've lost plenty of bets over the years and don't like to have it shoved in my face either, so I'm not about to do it to someone else. It is not us against us, it's us against the books, and I am not going to get into a war of words with anyone on this site.

I'm sorry you lost your bet, not happy about it. Really surprised you'd pick me out to "hunt down". I'm confused by that, since so many others had things to say about it too...anyways, no problem. I will stay out of your threads in future if it bothered you that much.

Good luck in your bets in future.

I was kidding. Geez Louise. If there is one thing about me I do have a sense of humor about me.

Good luck to you too.

Yes but I want to recover quick. Just because I lose one bet dont mean I am changing my style. I got to figure this out for myself. There is more than one way to win at sports wagering.

Thanks for the kind words also gibber.

Anyone else reading this thread get the feeling Scott isn't truly that keen on learning a lesson ....

Scott, seems to me u have already virtually disregarded a lot of sound advice from some very good WINNING 'cappers... u have to grind it out, there's simply no other easy way....some 'cappers have success with a staggered money management plan in which some wagers are larger than others but the key thing is - they still HAVE a MONEY MANAGEMENT plan!

btw, derek911 .... still LMFAO at the Chmura quip :D dance2

agreed,

im starting to think scott and hello there are the same person:shrug:

nope we are just like minded persons trying to find our way in the complicated world known as sports wagering. There is not one among us that has not thought like me or that hello there fellow. And I guarantee you that no one can say that they have always stuck to a mm system and never made a bet larger than they should have to catch up or chase. we have all done it.

The thing I got to figure out is how to do it and increase the bankroll. Dont think I am not listening to the advice. I like the idea of a staggered management system.

The time is now. Lets do this .
