since im basically in football mode now, im not gonna get too crazy with baseball but this is the biggest bet ive made in mlb since the la/san diego under from a few weeks ago when eaton and weaver dueled.
seattle and oakland under 8
bobby madritsch has been a gold mine for me since moving into the starting rotation for seattle. i have no idea why i developed such a gambling affinity for him, but i recall being impressed with the way he pitched out of the bullpen against anaheim a month or two ago, not giving into hitters like anderson and vlad and going right after them. he got a spot start, pitched great and then i figured i might as well keep riding him. he finally got hit around a little last start vs texas, but this kids competitive toughness is what i like most about him, so im confident he'll rebound with no problem. teams just around getting good swings off him this year. next year could be a different story once the opposing teams get a book on him and his tendencies, but for now - he is pitching incredibly well, going 7 or more innings in 8 of his L10 starts and he's 7 under/ 3 over in those 10 starts. harden is harden. capable of throwing a gem or capable of walking too many guys. but hes settled down lately and his control has improved. for awhile, it looked like his control would be his achilles heel, but hes had 2 or less walks in 6 of his L7 starts (which is marked improvement for him). as long as he doesnt put unnecessary guys on base, his stuff is good enough to dominate even good hitting teams (which seattle is not, save ichiro). under for me, especially since this game has big implications for oakland.
