Utah -14 over Texas St ******
This is a terrible match up for the Bobcats...they have little inside scoring.Wright drives a lot and posts up some but really no inside scorers.There 3 gds are not scorers or pure shooters. and the Utah gds are all 6'3,6'4,6'5. Bobcat gds are all 6'0,6'1... Tex St FT % is terrible and they can't rebound..Wright is forced to do everything and gets frustrated..In the Texas loss 85-53 they shot 5-26 and most of though's were open jumpers...Wright tries to do everything and had 6 or 7 turnovers and 2 offensive fouls..Utah can score ..They avg almost 90 pts a game...Loveridge and Wright are avg 16-17 pts a game..they can throw in 7'0 Bach-ski ...they beat BYU who can score by 15-20 pts...but Utah plays great defense.There ranked 4th in the country in FG def.. this is vs. a team that has problems scoring and rebounding...Utah wins this by +20...
UCLA +5 over Duke **
Both of these teams can score..think UCLA has better athletes and can keep this close...
Dayton -7.5 over Iona *
Iona can score but plays no defense...Dayton at home plays tough but doesn't have the offense to stay with Iona..think they have to slow the game down..don't let Iona run and shoot...Both teams are bad rebounding teams.Iona lost at home the other nite to the Bonnies 102-89....Lost to Kansas and at home vs Marist they struggled and pulled away with a few minutes left...UD lost to Zaga by 5 and Baylor by 1..think Flyers play there style..and win at home..
Best play Utah big..biggest play of this young college season for me.
yest did Horrendous 0-5..unreal...terrible on my part..no excuses...
Didn't get to see the game but Texas did a job on NC..out rebounded them and played tough defense...hard to measure this Texas team..but maybe Barnes has something...I guess the real test will come Saturday vs Mich St..he has a young team and they are playing for him..still think they will have trouble in the B-12 but maybe not...
