Was at the Texas-Iowa St game..it went to pick'im

Iowa St up 3 with 12 seconds left and Iowa fouls Texas on purpose and put them on the line...Iowa up 3 with 6 seconds...Texas throws a baseball pass at midcourt...time out...4.5 seconds left...I know the Iowa coach will foul again so the 3 doesn't tie the game..but he doesn't and Texas hits a 3 at the buzzer for OT...why wouldn't you foul when you did it with 12 seconds....unreal...double OT game of course Iowa St loses and so do I...uhhhh

I feel your pain Box. Same shit happened on Saturday in the Michigan/Wisconsin game. I will never understand why you don't foul up 3 with just a few seconds left. :shrug:

You see so many games where they don't and someone hits the 3.It's easy to watch it but harder to pull the trigger when your coaching.As a coach I did foul the shooter esp since many of the teams I played in my league always had one or two sharp shooters...the key is when you foul you tell the refs what your going to do before...or have your captain go to each ref and say were going to reach in and go for the ball...not intentional....once you plant the seed in their heads that helps....what a coach is scared of is one of his players knocking the guy down....but you always foul in a trap....unless the guy is bringing the ball up the court...I have never seen a player hit the 1st FT,miss the next one on purpose and his team puts it back in....never.. I have seen 1,000 times a guy hitting a 3 to tie the game...
