Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Toronto at NYI............................

Toronto 12-14-3 away
NYI 12-11-14 at home

Toronto has won last three overall, outscoring opponents 13-4.

NYI are 2-0-1 last 3.

Teams met once this season. NYI won on home ice 3-1 (11/23). Toronto PP was terrible, not much better lately, esp with Mogilny out.

Toronto 4-5-1 last 10
NYI 5-4-1 last 10. They beat Calg, LA, TB, NYR, STL.

Osgood pulled in last two games. Snow filled in fine. "earned his start" for this game sez AP, but Osgood helped mightly in that 3-1 defeat, and is 13-7-5 vs Toronto. Would you give him a chance?

Pittsburg at Montreal.........................

Pitt 10-13-4 away
Montreal 13-9-4 at home

Pitt 13-8 on 1 day rest
Montreal 12-13-4 on 1 day rest

Pitt played ok at Carolina tues, shaking off many days rust.

Teams met only once this season. Pitt at home lost 1-3 (12/19). They'll wanna right that.

Montreal 5-3-2 last 10
Pitt won 6 in row, then 0-2-1 last 3.

MTL 3-0-1 at home vs Pitt going back to 1999

Pitt is four points out of playoff spot.
Montreal is tied in 7th place.

Pitt has poor PK and PP, but that was before Mario...

Edmonton at STL....................

Edmonton 9-12-7 away
STL 17-8-1 at home

STL 1-2 last 3 at home. Beat Boston during winning streak, lost recently to Anaheim and Detroit.

Edmonton 0-6-3 on road since mid Dec.

STL 17-8-1 on 1 day rest
Edmon is 10-14-5 on 1 day

Edmonton is now no6 in playoff spot, and gotta face recent teammate Doug Weight tonight. Edmon has slipped since he left, STL gotten better since he joined Blues.

STL 4-0-1 vs Edmon on home ice, going back to oct 1999

Two meetings this season, each winning at home.

Edmon is in 4 game road swing, Dallas friday (0-12 there)

Edm PP 13.4 away
STL PP 26.5 at home

FL at TB....................................

FL lost to TB at home last night. With Weeks in TB net. Now they get to face Khabib at home. But he hasn't been real sharp of late.

Under hits 13-8 FL away
Under hits 12-8 TB at home
Under this season's meetings: 1-0-1

Atlanta at New Jersey..........................

the line on this is AT +320!

AT 8-19 away
NJ 14-11-3 at home

AT 4-5-1 last ten
NJ 4-4-2 last ten

only meeting this season, few weeks back, AT defeated NJ in big upset 4-2 on home ice.
NJ is still bit upset at that. As much as this team can get upset, but will no doubt point the finger at someone else than themselves.

NJ will get into playoff spot with win tonight.

NJ 5-0 vs AT at Meadowlands

Hnilicka got pulled in his last start. He's 11-24-5 this season. He's 3-0 in games after getting pulled. His only meeting against NJ was that one a few weeks ago.

NJ gets to rest a night, then go to Pitt.
AT goes home to face NYR friday.

Carolina at Los Angeles........................

Carolina 11-11-4 away
LA 11-12-3 at home

LA Times sez that's the worst home record of the 16 teams holding playoff positions.

Carolina 11-15-8 on 1 day rest
LA 4-2-1 on 2 days

Canes 2-2-6 last ten
LA 7-3 last ten. All losses at home (NYI, Colorado, Phila--last game)

LA went 12-3-0 in Jan, most wins in one month in franchise history.

LA hasn't lost two in row since Nov 17. They need points for playoff spot. Six members on team going to olympics, but swear they are focused on Kings winning now.

One meeting this season, Carolina on home ice defeated Kings 3-2 (10/28)

Carolina plays Anaheim fri, LA goes to Phx fri

More on Pitt and STL games, NJ tidbit

More on Pitt and STL games, NJ tidbit

you nailed it Horns. Turns out Pitt record in Montreal with Mario is 6-1-1! But MTL is very tough at home lately.

Besides Mario, there is another Montreal native on the team, winger Eric Meloche. He's playing at home for first time in NHL.

Post-Gazette says Hedberg is in goal. He's switching equipment again to get luck. He's upset at his recent performance and aims to do something about it. Team promises more defense, newspaper quotes. Should help your under pic!

STL paper says MacInnis out, should play sat against Phila.

STL paper also says Brathwaite in goal tonight. He's got a 1.98 gga this season in 19 starts, almost didn't believe it when I saw it. He's 7-8-4 on season, .909 pct. He's 5-2-1 against Oilers. 2.09 gga, .927 pct.

Salo is 5-5-3 vs STL, 2.40 gga, .919 pct

Both teams should play with more focus and defense after their last sloppy outings.

NJ is 6-10-2-1 against losing teams sez ticker.
But revenge should be the operating principle tonight.
