I don't care for the early part of the card and I'm here at work so I'll plan on going out for the 5th.

5th-Looks like 1 Wild Cyrina and 2 Oxalis both coming out of the Mar 5 race are the two to beat. 4 Rare Honor could be a sleeper at 8-1 after a couple of wide trips sprinting. I'll probably use the 1 & 2 in the Pic 3.

6th-Mdns at 1 1/16 on the turf. Assuming no rain and it stays on grass, 8 Kossu will be very tough. He's 4-1 in the m/l but I expect 8-5 tops. He was beaten only 2.5 by Hold That Tiger (BC Juvenile 3rd) in Ireland. One sleeper is # 3 Silver Tree, who's trained by Mott at 8-1 in the program. He's by Hennessey, a decent turf sire, out of a With Approval mare. He finished 5th out of 11 in a good dirt Mdn sprint. I'll be using both those two in the Pic 3s and as tri keys.

7th-only a 6 horse field but really only 1 of these has no chance. I think #4 Unbridled Vision with Bailey will be the horse to beat; he was hurt by a very slow pace last time and still only was beaten a head against the same level. #3 This Guns for Hire figures to prompt the pace in 2nd, and will be very tough if the pace is on the soft side. Bailey did leave to ride the 4. #6 Fiery Sweep will be dangerous on the lead and is 2nd-time Shuman off the claim. Shuman is still winning 27% of the time. # 2 Patent has a shot but he really needs a fast pace since he falls very far back; probably too far back to win here.

8th-A F NW1X at 1 1/16 miles. # 5 Meet Me at Midnight was 2nd by a neck vs these on Feb 21 then caught slop for her last which she didn't handle. She will be a major factor on a fast surface. #9 Scapade may be the favorite coming off the 2nd in the Ocala Stake. But the post won't help her. #7 Marnesia Light was 3rd in a key race Jan. 16, as both Yell and Bird Town have won stakes since that race.

9th-wide open older $62500 males on turf. Great betting race. I like the 1,2,3,4 and 9 here. The 3 Tubrok had a rough trip last time and still was only beaten a nose. # 1 Thunder Chief has a good post and an impressive 5 wins in 9 turf starts. # 5 Megantic is Mott/Bailey with a 14 turf start 5 win 2 2nds record. Megantic comes from very far back but there is some speed in here. #2 Corporate Storm is 15-1 in the program but contested a fast pace last time and still was beaten only 4 and actually had the lead at the 1/8th pole. One of the speeds he was battling came back to win for 50K. # 6 TV Sports Director and # 9 Severado could very easily work their way into the trifecta.

I just got back from watching the 6th. Silver Tree was very, very impressive. Bailey takes off him to ride the favorite who gets away with a slow pace; Silver Tree is being strangled on the far turn; C. Velasquez finally lets him loose turning for home and he runs down the favorite with something to spare. I think this horse will have no problem handling the jump to NW1X allowance horses in either Kentucky or New York.

Those Hennessey's love the grass.
