Hit a double play with Rutgers to make for a pleasant opening weekend.

One game tonight, one play tonight.

Vandy +10 over South Carolina. Lets talk about SEC double digit dogs. Over the last two years, double digit dogs in SEC league games are 32-9-1. Consider that over the last decade those teams are 113-88-3, the numbers from the last two seasons are an eye opener. Double digit dogs in the SEC have gone from a losing record to turning a tidy profit over the last decade because of their resounding success in back to back years. They've stormed the castle and are taking over. We'll see if the oddsmakers have figured out to handicap the seemingly big mismatches in this conference. I'm willing to spend a unit here early on to see if they've nailed it yet. Vandy is 5-1 ATS in this role during this two year run, which is key because the 'Dores are just 7-8 ATS overall as league dogs. As for South Carolina, despite their blowout last week, they've failed to earn the cover in five of their last seven games when installed as a double digit favorite.

Yes, the Gamecocks looked great last week. Sure, Smelley came in during the second half and looked marvelous. And, the defense looks rejuvenated with a new coach and Brinkley returning from injury. All that bodes well for the Cocks. But, you almost have to throw everything we saw last week out the window because of how atrocious NC St's offense was. Vandy provides much more of challenge. Their whole offense is better, but the step up in QB play they're facing tonight will be hard to handle. I still think the Carolina offense is vulnerable to sacks, turnovers and overall spotty play. The Dores know how to generate pressue against this team after getting 7 sacks last year in their win. They might be replacing a lot of production in the front seven, but they have an excellent pair of corners who I think can thwart Smelley.

This game will be a close hard fought one. And, until the SEC double digit dogs start getting blown out again, I'm staying on the train.

Good luck everyone!! :weed:
