Beavers vs. Ducks
The Civil War has been played over 100 times, non more important that this one - a trip to the Rose Bowl. I spent quite a bit of time on this game today and see two fairly even teams, each having their strengths. Oregon St. needs to show up in stopping the run, which they have done successfully. Opponents have averaged under 100 yards per game overall and on the road.
I could mention several things, but these points stood out:
OSU QB Canfield's 70% completion rate.
Both teams have two weeks to prepare, advantage Beavers. More time to prepare for a complex offense and perfect the silent play calling they are using today on offense.
Special teams advantage to the Beavers. Oregon kick returner Kenjon Barner probably won't play. A versatile freshman also used on offense or defense.
OSU's revenge from last year's embarrassment.
OSU +10 -120 x3
ACC Championship - Tampa
Both teams are coming off losses to non-league, in-state rivals, as Georgia Tech dropped a 30-24 decision to Georgia, while Clemson fell to South Carolina, 34-17. Prior to those setbacks, the Yellow Jackets had won eight straight, while the Tigers had won six in a row.
Georgia Tech owns a 48-24-2 advantage in the all-time series with Clemson, and the Yellow Jackets have won the last three meetings, and five of the last six overall.
Georgia Tech QB Josh Nesbitt won't be 100% Saturday, a key component in their famed rushing attack having 900 yards running. This will be a revenge game for the Tigers, losing by a field goal in September after spotting GT a 24 point lead. Yellow Jackets have the bigger hangover heading into this one. The sharp group that has a perfect record through several weeks likes the Tigers.
