1-0 here as the Phillies won for me a couple of days ago. For Thursday:
STL +105 CanBet
Tomko vs Robertson
Tomko is Tomko and you know pretty much what you will get. Robertson is pretty much hit or miss. He has taken the spot Sarloos had in the rotation and was called up from Triple A on the 12th of this month. He will be anxious to prove himself. His stats show me he is 1-5 for his career with a 7.35 ERA! Against the Cardinals he has a career 9.82 ERA in limited action. So far this year opponents are hitting .336 against him, .346 in his career. Let me say this though, you never know what will happen no matter what the stats say or how poor they are. These are limited stats and since he has a total of only 45 innings pitched in the bigs they are not always reflective of what a pitcher will eventually become. They all have to learn sometime, I have seen guys like this go out and pitch masterpieces their next outing.
Still having said this I know the Cardinals absolutely love hitting lefthanders. They are hitting .290 for the year and only Colorado (in that rarified air) has a higher slugging % against them than the Cards do. They rarely strike out and keep the ball in play. I learned long ago these books are smarter than I am however getting a +105 here is a play I am happy to wager on. All my plays only count for recordkeeping purposes as 1 unit plays (to keep me from using the "increasing units until I get even" move) but this is a play I put 2 units on in the real world. Good luck with your plays. If this wins will be back with my "3rd play of the year" soon.
