Love the Miners here....they started out the season 2-13..did beat FAU by 1 in OT in El Paso....but this team could be the hottest team in the country now..they have won 3 in a row and have won 9 of last 11..they are now 9-5 in Conf USA and could get a 1st round bye being in 3rd place...they just beat Rice 79-71 and their 6'8 fw Thomas was named Conf USA POWeek.,,he had 17 and 23 pts and 11 and 14 bds in last 2 games...Artis and Harris could be the best 2 gd tandem both avg 15-16 pts a game..Williams the 7'1 also has stepped up his game...Miners are 46% FG..so these guys can shoot...defense in this streak has been outstanding...FAU has been up and down...won 3 in a row on the rd and then loses to "power house North Texas at home...NT broke their road losing streak...FAU beat So Miss the worst team in the conf by 12 in last game...they are one of the worst FG% teams in the country..Lost to La Tech by 26 and Mid Tenn by 29 at home..UTEP is now playing in that class of those two..Utep did beay FAU in OT way back by 1....think the Miner gds who are both 6'3 and Thomas inside will be to much for FAU tonite..think Miners win this on the road by 6-10 points..wrong team favored...UTEP big

Uh Oh..picked up granddaughter....she didn't get a "happy face" on her daily report...her teacher walked 3 doors down and reported it to her mom....who teaches there too....she got the 7 yr old "death sentence "...no electronics for 24 hours"...."not paying attention and didn't hand something in"....that's tough when your mom works in the same school that you attend....so we dribbled home,she did all her homework already and will await her mom's arrival from school and ask for leniency...grandpa will be her defending attorney....problem is my wife will side with the prosecution...24 hours mean,no TV,no computer,no ipad...that is tough on today's 7 year olds..lol

Was going to this game up in Denton tonite..had to change plans because everyone can't make it tonite...so will attend Saturdays afternoon game vs So Miss...will be Benfords last game at the Pit..how ironic is that..been talking about how bad he has been these past 3 or 4 years and I get to see his last game...
La Tech has a high powered offense...they have won 6 in a row and beat NT 81-57 the 1st time they played...they have a big time player in McCree who avgs 18 pts and 9 bds...they have Boykins at gd who can score..they have a few other players all avgs in double digits..way to much for NT to stop..McCree had 27 the other nite vs FIU...Tech has won 5 of 7 on the road...NT is 2-12 in last 14 games...they have 2 frosh who are now starting both avg 10 pts...they are a terrible passing team and can't shoot the 3...lost 7 of 8 home games...but they do cover a lot of these games..they lost 10 in row..then upset FAU by 6 ,get blown out by FIU and UTEP and beat UTSA...but La Tech is in a different class....think they roll on the road and are top team in the Conf USA..they won't stumble or trip..tonite

Foxes upset Canisius and lost a close game to Iona in last 2 games...before losing 9 in row...they can't shoot,play defense and rebound....ranked 317th in defense...Am I missing something...Hart will shoot all nite from all over..its one of his last games as a 5th yr senior..they have no post players and for the 20th time their top rebounder is 6'2...meanwhile Quinn is ranked about 100th in scoring...Daniels,Dixon,Kiss can score..they won 7 games in the conf but have now lost 4 straight...Peter blew them away...lost close games to rider,Fairfield in OT and Manhattan...they have these scorers but why are they bad....defense...they give up 82 pts a game..ranking them 334th....so you have 2 teams that can't play defense but one can score...the over is 158..that looks pretty good....although Foxes are home think Quinn will out score them.. Foxes are 7-22 for a reason...

Does it make a difference who they play....they are loaded...SD at home is sold out...in the 1st 10 minutes the Zags take the home court advantage away...they avg 85 pts a game and shoot 50%...-Goss is amazing..the big Polish kid Karnowski takes up so much space..double down on him and Collins,Mathews,etc score...they won last 4 by +20 and are 11-0 on the road....they are 16-5 ats...SD has lost 7 of last 9...they can't score avg 63 pts a game....Zaga beat them 79-43 the 1st time...thats by 36 points...23 is a lot of points to lay but I forgot one important fact...Zaga plays tremendous defense...could be the best perimeter defense in the country...

T..I didn't get back to you about the box and one..sorry....if you go to youtube there are a couple of videos showing it....it really depends on who you are "boxing".. if its a shooter that is the easiest...post and wings are also good...point gds are the hardest...its a great gimmick defense that should be used more..even on the college level...colleges don't use it because they usually have other options that can score..High schools always have one top scorer and the rest are roll players ....I loved it because everyone knew when they played me they would see it....it was fun but we put a lot of pride in it....my kids would love to see how fast the other coach would call time out to adjust to it...and then I would call it off....I laughed inside..good luck
