i'm glad my hoops plays have been doing ok, because my bowl plays have stunk so far - already dropped unca and navy under so far today. think i'll just tease both dogs tonight and stick with hoops.
tonight's slate is not for the squeamish:
mizzou +3-: no team is as good as they look on their best day, and i think that's what we saw out of gonzo at ok st. that was a really physical game, and it seemed to me you could see the zags fade a little in the second half. turiaf took that hard fall and had a teammate fall on his already sore ankle. while he continued, experience tells me that ankle felt a lot worse the next day, and the travel limits what the trainers can do. i assume the team flew, and if so, that won't help the ankle either. now the bulldogs face the tigers on their homecourt with short turnaround and little prep time, while mo has had a week to get ready. i know mizzou had their problems in november, but it looked to me like they had worked a few kinks out when they played the illinii last week.
ill st +2-: got a lot of respect for sw mo, but not enought to make the redbirds a dog in normal.
tulsa -2: dangerous play here after the hurricane played their hearts out vs ok st, but just a feeling that this tulsa team is going to continue to play hard for pooh richardson. despite the slow start, they have talent, experience and a decent home court.
denver +7-: can't figure this line, col st should be -3, maybe -4.
columbia -3: wary of the letdown here also, but i've liked columbia and their coach for some time, and was not surprised that they played the wolfpack tough. also, canisius sucks.
richmond +15: another risky play, but i keep thinking of the wildcats' sunday game with asu. i hope they are too.
