NY Mets (Appier) @ San Diego Padres (Tollberg)

Going with the hometown Padres here so get out the brooms because I really think the Mets get swept today!

Tollberg is 6-3 on the year ERA of 3.43, last three starts have produced a very solid 3-1 record ERA of 2.14, he is 2-1 at home ERA of 3.33, this is his first start against the Mets. Appier is 6-10 on the year ERA of 4.06, he is 1-0 in his last 3 starts with 2 no decisions ERA of 4.50, 4-5 on the road 3.86 ERA, he has 4 career starts against the Padres with his teams going 2-2 in those starts this is his first starts as a Met against them.

The Mets are 18-30 as a road do, 7-13 as a road dog of -125 or less, 18-27 during the day, 48-57 on the grass, 23-38 on the road and 45-52 against right handers batting a very poor .210 as a team in their last 10 games against them. San Diego is 14-11 as a home favorite 11-7 as a home fav. of -125 or less, 23-16 in the daytime, 56-57 on the grass, 27-34 at home and 47-39 against righties batting .257 as a team in their last 10.

Two good bullpens here so you have no advantage there. The umpire Jerry Layne favors the home team with them going 13-8 with him behind the plate.

Allot of people are losing money waiting on the Mets to return to last years form but I don't think they are going to! They are just no where near the team they were and are riding on Piazza's back, without him they would be in the cellar.

Play San Diego -125

To be honest I try and bet the same on every game I will bet smaller but never bigger just a little habit I have forced myself to practice over the years.
