wilson alvarez was basically lumped into the retread category , but the way he has been pitching , his stock is certainly on the rise , alvarez has won five straight decisons and allowed only two earned runs over the last 21 innings

The Marlins are neck and neck in the exciting NL Wildcard chase,
thanks in part to a strong showing in head to head play vs. the Phillies
(9-4, +$835). Dontrelle Willis has been less imposing since the All-Star
break, but his numbers are still very solid (+$560, 3.39 ERA) and the
Phillies have been dreadful against lefthanders this season (-$590
with only 3.6 runs per game)
