Duke (-11) over VT

The blue Devils come into this spot in great position, OFF A LOSS! Fighting for a shot at the ACC number one spot which they just lost! @ Duke the Hokies lost by 35 now just because this game is @ VT Duke is not given any credit. Both Wake and Carolina beat VT in blacksburg by over 20!

VT has no one that can keep Sheldon Williams out of the paint and he should have a big day. There should be some J.J Reddick fans in the crowd considering JJ grew up 40 mins away from Tech! Shavlik Randolph has hit just 3-of-13 shots over the last three games. Expect Coach K to get him some open looks and get him back on track. Carlos Dixon is one of VT's best players and he is playing with a nagging hand injury, pressure (Dockery especially) should force him into some turnovers.

Turnovers is something VT has been guilty of lately, those turnovers lead to quick points and the hokies have given up 83-or-more points in three of the last four games. Tech's lack of depth, has let opposing bench players light it up against the Hokies. This is GREAT news for steadily improving frosh Demarcus Nelson and back-up player Melchionni. Expect them to have some production off the pine. If Nelson is in the starting line-up again then expect Dockery to have some points off the bench.

NOW I don't think the score will be as large as the last game because the Hokies were whistled for 34 fouls and Duke hit 30 of a whopping 49 free throws. That shouldn't happen on the Tech home floor, not to say that Duke won't get it's share of call. In the end to blue Devils are too good from the free throw line. Expect coach K to try to open a can on VT considering they have lost 3 of their last 6!!

Good luck Irish,

Think you're on the right side here. I just hate taking road faves. Been burned on them too much in the past; although I'll occasionally take one.

Louisville (-7) over Marquette

Not only did Louisville run away with this game but O'Bannon had a career high the last time these two played. Garcia has struggled the past two weeks, including 3-of-15 shooting and only 19 points in last week's games against Memphis and USF. Both Garcia and Dean need to play well because OP'Bannon will not carry them again. Diener did not play which was a huge problem considering he is Marquette's best player. Also Novak played poorly, the golden eagles best sharp shooter was 1-6 on the night. Tonight the golden eagles get a chance at redemption on their home floor.

Before the last game The Cardinals had lost six of the previous seven meetings in a series that has evolved into a bitter rivalry.

The cards have to get the press to force turnovers! They cannot allow Diener to break it easily. Making him run all over the floor should get him on the bench which is the best place for him as a Louisville backer! Louisville is over rated in my opinion but they do play energetic defense and dominating the boards. The golden eagles turn the ball over a lot and allow teams to out rebound them!

I'm not sure a team that beat ECU on a last second jumper should be able to handle the play of Louisville. Plus emotionally they might not have enough for this game, coming off two close road games. The crowd should energize the golden eagles, but IMO not enough.
