My Best Bets are doing fine. I hope that the others do well tonight. Playing these:
Toronto Blue Jays -105(Best Bet)
Philadelphia Phillies -130
Montreal Expos +110
Arizona Diamondbacks -125
Texas Rangers +180
Blue Jays-Toronto has dominated this series recently(13-3 last 16 meetings) and despite thier 2 losses at Detroit play well on the road(25-19;9-8 vs. Div.). The O-Bird's Johnson has lost his last 10 starts vs. Toro. and is 0-7 lifetime against them. His ERA in the last 15.2 innings pitched against the Blue Jays is 9.77. Baltimore just 6-8 at home vs. their division so I think the Blue Jays get it done in this one.
Phillies-Hot team vs. a cold pitcher. Zambrano just 1 win in his last 6 starts and the Cubs not hitting very well. Phillies have won in Myers last 3 starts so I'll take the Phillies at this short price.
Expos-Hot pitcher vs. a cold team. Vargas has pitched well all year(2.74 ERA) and lately has been almost unhittable(1.66 ERA last 22.2 innings). Braves not scoring any runs and Reynolds ERA in his last 3 starts is 10.80.
Diamondbacks-Webb a very good pitcher while Neagle is definitely on the backside of his career. D'Backs will get back on track tonight.
Rangers-Small play not as much on Texas as is it against Appier. Just 7-16 in his career vs. the Rangers and in the last 2 years is 0-3 with a 7.85 ERA. Mounce has pitched well in his first few outings(1.08 ERA last 16.2 innings pitched; 3.00ERA overall) so I'll take a chance on Texas +180.
