DR BOB
Thursday NBA Analysis
New Jersey (-4) 92 NEW YORK 88
The Knicks are 28-9-1 ATS at home off a loss since November of 2002 (15-4 ATS this season), including 14-1 ATS after back-to-back losses. New York, however, has been awful since trading away Keith Van Horn for Tim Thomas (he hasn?t been nearly as effective) and my ratings favor New Jersey by 5 points in this game with Thomas out (he missed game 2 also). There are no general playoff situations favoring either side in this game and the team trends favoring the Knicks are only worth 1 point. So, New Jersey by 4 points is the overall number that I?d put on this game, making it hardly worth betting on either side.

MEMPHIS (+3 1/2) 86 San Antonio 89
This is another tough game to call, as my ratings favor the Spurs by 2 1/2 points and there are no significant situations favoring either side in this game. The Spurs are now 48-31 ATS in all playoff games in the Tim Duncan era, but they?re just 7-11 ATS when favored by 3 points or more following a win the previous game of the series. However, Memphis is a streaky team that is much better after a victory (33-17 ATS this season) than they are after a loss (14-19 ATS). I?d suggest passing on this game.
