TIGERS/RED SOX Under 9.5 -115 ? In all seriousness, Mark Redman may be the best 3-8 pitcher in all of baseball right now! He has an excellent 3.59 ERA and an equally sparkling WHIP of 1.30 in 122.2 innings of work this year. He has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 6 if his last 8 starts, with a 2.18 ERA and an outstanding WHIP of 1.11 over those 8 starts. The problem for Redman has been the lack of support from the Detroit offense, which has only averaged 2.9 runs per game in all of his starts. Not surprisingly, the Under is 6-2 in Redman?s last 8 starts and 10-6 in all of his starts. Castillo also deserves to have a better record than his 5-8, as he has a very good 1.27 WHIP in 94.1 innings. After going through a bit of a rough stretch, Castillo has had 2 Quality Starts in his last 3 starts. Also, he has not allowed more than 3 earned runs in any of his last 4 starts vs. Detroit, spanning back to the 2000 season. Finally, the Under is now 24-17 in all Boston home games this year, with an average total score of 8.84 runs per game.
