tikrit abandoned?

am watching cnn(i apologize) at 1:30 a.m. est on sunday morning.....a "rogue" cnn crew is riding into tikrit in a seven man news caravan.....they are riding through abandoned iraqi positions with vehicles,tanks and posts totally abandoned...it`s eerie.....there`s nobody there....they are inside the 5 mile radius of tikrit.........nothing....no dogs.....if anybody sees this,do yourself a favor and throw it on....it`s incredible.....

they heard an explosion ahead,and turned around and started back.....is it possible that they abandoned the outskirts to possibly launch a chemical or biological attack as the coalition gets closer/....i know that might be a bit far fetched..but,this looks to be the last stand......but,damn,there`s nobody out there....has a very weird feel to it....

and the people said "saddam is finished in tikrit"....and that there weren`t any soldiers left in tikrit.....the reporters are heading back in...this is really interesting....hold up....they are stopping....they think some "saddam fedayeen "may still be active...they are gonna wait where they are for a half hour...

Yeah I was watching it with my wife just to see if they would get blown to bits and it just about happened. What a dumbass. Someone chased them out of the city and shot at them with a pistol. These reporters make it sound like it is so safe for them just to drop in and ask ?'s like nothing is going on. Then the next thing you know they have a armed guard in the vehicle with them shooting back. What a bunch of idiots is all I can say. I also like how they meet a guy for 2 minutes and they trust him. The teacher in the car that led them into tikrit. And just before that they where saying there was no resistance in tikrit, my how things changed. They were very lucky but it could have been some great CNN airtime if they would have been blown to bits. I'm sure CNN wouldn't have mattered if they got blown to bits. Would have boosted there ratings for a week.

Is sad how media now days plays rating games. What they tell us is much about what we want to here. So sad because much of it is full of half truths and BS. Fox does not even know how to spell Basra right. They say it has to have a H in it. Maybe they should look at a map. CNN and FOX so worried about what each are doing they forget objective reporting. Im starting to watch MSNBC more they seem not to give a chit about CNN or FOX.

Garden, I didn't see the incident you were speaking of, but after the fights last night I watched a movie closely resembling what you speak of. Was called Harrison' s flowers, starring Andie McDowell & Adrian Brody. Involved photographers for newsweek & Time that went to cover the Serbia-Croatian conflict in the 90' s.

You can say these guys are crazy, but they risk their life to show the world what is going on. Pretty decent movie, evidently its factual.
