Four Super Bowl rings aren?t enough for Tim Hasselbeck to join Team Brady.

Hasselbeck reiterated Monday on WEEI?s ?Dennis and Callahan? that he believes Peyton Manning still is better than Tom Brady despite the New England Patriots quarterback winning his fourth Super Bowl title Sunday. The former NFL QB and current ESPN analyst pointed to Manning?s role in the league?s evolution.

?As somebody who played at the quarterback position in the NFL, at a time that both of those guys were playing, nobody?s changed the game more than Peyton Manning or changed the way that that position is played more than Peyton Manning,? Hasselbeck said. ?And from my experience as a quarterback in the NFL, that?s a fact.

?Also what I said was when you look at wins and losses, especially in the postseason, there are so many other factors that dictate who wins and loses the game. It?s such a team environment, so ? I just don?t think it does the careers justice for any of these quarterbacks to try to narrow it down to just what happens in these postseason games.?

Manning has been a stud in the regular season throughout his career, but the postseason has been a different story. Although Manning won a Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts following the 2006 season, there have been several instances in which the future Hall of Famer folded under pressure. Brady, on the other hand, tends to thrive when the lights shine brightest despite losing two of his six Super Bowls.

Hasselbeck apparently isn?t concerned about Manning?s playoff woes, though. Manning and Brady have been in much different situations, which Hasselbeck believes should be considered when ranking the game?s all-time greats.

?Peyton Manning has won a Super Bowl, he?s achieved things that most quarterbacks aren?t able to ever achieve,? Hasselbeck said. ?He?s going to own basically every passing record that exists. So you ask me whose career I would rather have, based on that and how I explained to you he changed the game of football from an offensive perspective, that was my answer.?

imo,I`m pretty sure this superbowl win puts a stake in the hearts of the" which guy had the greater career" arguments for all time(at least for objective observers)...for their era,.brady 1,peyton 2(and that 2 is tenuous considering that Rodgers is only 31 and depending on how you define era)...

If you don't have a dog in the fight the majority of fans would take Brady over Manning big time......Over their careers Manning's main offensive weapons have been Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Edgerrin James, Demarius Thomas, etc( all will be in the Hall of Fame and rarely missed games)....Outside of Randy Moss for 1 year And Gronk being injured Brady has done it with receivers that don't stretch the field(Welker, Edelman, Branch, Givens and too many RBs to mention....We all know the playoff records of each player so no argument here....

Hasselbeck is a douche and this is a ridiculous comment. Peyton fizzed out most of his years and played on great teams that could have won. The loss to New Orleans seems baffling and those losses to San Diego and Pitt are inexplicable. Brady by a huge amount.

Jim Kelly-as good as or better than Manning
Bradshaw-better than Manning
Marino-about equal
Tarkenton-better than Manning
Stabler- almost as good but not.
Rodgers-better than Manning
Big Ben- better than Manning
Warren Moon-almost as good
Warner-better than Manning
Jim Zorn - a great passer but not close. Same goes for Bert Jones, Kreig, Kosar, Kilmer, Plunkett (not a good passer but a great competitor), DeBerg, Ken Anderson, Brian Sipe or Sype? I forget, Simms, McNair, Rypien, Williams, Grogan, Jurgenson, and so on.
Aikman, Montana, Young, Staubach, Starr, Favre, Brees, and probably Luck are all better than Manning. Even Eli the mouth breather has an argument when you're taking about the qb position. Success counts, team counts, all that stuff counts. Curt Warner needed Isaac Bruce just as much as Isaac needed him.
