1. What happened to Momar Qadafi? Last time he checked in with us he was trying to kiss our ass!!! Your policy of "diplomacy" would have just propagated/emboldened this guy.....just as it has done to Hussein the last 12 years

2. Hussein said he was going to take this war to the air, land and sea, throughout the world.....what would have happened in 5 years or so, if the crazed bastard had nuclear capabilities? That blindman Blix wouldn't have found.....another 5 years of this cat and mouse bullshit and Hussein i am sure would indeed have a nuke pointed right at us or Israel....

Best way to get peace is to win it.....time to go in and kick some ass.....i am sure we will soon see pictures of dying babies, and the like after Hussein commits even more genocide and you just wait for the International thugs to blame this on the US.....

And i want to hear what you peaceniks say when we find all the financial dealings of Hussein with the Ruskies, French, and Germans and why we should even give them the time of day.....and also when we find Husseins dealings with terror organizations and i am sure even Al Quaeda dealings will turn up once our spies are not in danger anymore and we send 250,000 of the best inspectors the world has ever known to clear this up once and for all....

Freeze,

Even our own government doesn't try to say that Saddam would have nuclear capabilities in five years. By ALL accounts, he doesn't even have a nuclear program. You are a total and complete moron. Rah-rah!!!! Watching this on TV, us 'kicking ass', is gonna be fun. Huh Freeze? This will go down in history as among the most idiotic decisions ever made by an administration.

Hopefully November 2004 comes along before these idiots decide to declare war on North Korea and China.

Kosar, perhaps they will threaten those two countries in the future and perhaps they won't. They certainly will not right now. And as of right now, this administration is sending a very dangerous message that is detrimental to world security. That is: if you want us (U.S.) to stay out of your country, you must have a credible threat like North Korea. This will only give other regimes such as N. Korea's the incentive to build a nuclear program. But like you, I too hope the war will not occur so I can enjoy March Madness!!

Yeah, he's ATTEMPTED to. Just like every other country in the world, practically.

He currently has no nuclear program or capability.

Can you please tell me what we are doing, and why?

Steams,

Yeah, in some ways I agree, but frankly even if we didn't *think* N. Korea had 2 crude, probably undeliverable nukes, we still wouldn't go in there. Nukes or not, initiating a war there would utterly destroy one of our closest allies beyond recognition.

Well its obvious that Saddam can't tell the truth. I mean why now for the last few weeks he says oh yea those missles and oh yea we do have chemical weapons, but for defense only. Come on, the guy is a total threat. We did the same thing a couple years ago with Osama Bin Laden and look what he did.

Most people will act unlawfully when there are no consequences for bad behavior. We see this in our schools and in both our juvenile and adult justice systems. Without consequences for unlwaful acts, there will always be those who will behave in anti-social ways. Since 1991, Iraq has suffered no consequences for its failure to abide by UN decrees. There is no reason to suspect that one day Hussein will wake up and say "From now on, I will follow the rules." We can either let him continue to act without consequences, or we can act to show him that there are, indeed, consequences. While the parallels between Saddam and Hitler are specious in most cases, keep in mind that Hitler also continued to brush off dipomatic solutions (poor Neville Chamberlain) and just went on and did as he pleased. Finally, it took the horrific consequence called "The Great War" to stop his arrogant abuse of power. This is probably a little sophomoric and simplistic in thought, but bad people simply don't change their ways unless their are consequences. Saddam Hussein is a bad person.

I guess he couldnt buy a nuclear warhead from the Soviets.....they have 100's just floating around....

What's gonna happen in 2004???Is Rev Al Sharpton,Billiary Clinton,or Joe Lieberman going to win.The Democratic party is loaded with top notch candidates.....

War is a horrible part of life.I have friends stationed over in the Middle Least.....and I hope they all come back alive.....but I have to believe that the CSI,NSA,FBI,Army,Navy,Air Force and the president know more about this situation than you, all the other Bush bashers and anti war protesters. And they are doing what is best for the safety of America and the rest of the World.Saddam has 48 hrs to give up.The ball is in his court. If he is such a great guy....why doesnt he give up and save 1000's of Iraqi citizens, soliders, and even his own families lives???

So Cal
About as many people voted in American Idol competition as voted in the last presidential election. So few people vote, that the elections are actually decided by a relative small percentage of the population. That being said, how in the world could anyone think that if Gore was president, 9/11 would not have happened? This was planned years before the election ever took place. Just guessing, but can't see Iraq or any radical Muslim extremists running for cover because Gore was president. Since he invented the internet, he might have had an inside line to Osama and been able to prevent the hate that has been festering for hundreds of years - but I don't think so.

I think what Bush is doing will prove to be the right decision. You cannot reson with dictators, as was proven with n. korea. These terrorists & the dictators who support terrorism only understand force, as history has shown. The reason why these thugs are doing what they are doing because we did not stop them in the beginning. In 1983 Cobal Towers was bombed, Reagan did not retaliate forcefully, 1993 the first time the world trade center was hit, all clinton did was lob bombs in the general direction of bin-laden. It is said that both saddam & bin-laden think the reason why americans don't have any stomach for war was because of the US gov't's reaction to the battle in Mogadisu(spelling?). Our gov't did not send support troops in to help our soldiers(The movie Black Hawk Down was based on that incident).

I think we finally have a president who understands the type of enemy we are fighting. We have a president who knows that terrorists understand one thing & that is military mite.

I sure hope those bozos run, and u can also add The Reverend Jackson as well. There'll be a black American and woman in the Presidency/Vice Presidency one of these days, buts it's far more likely to be Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice. The libertarians do a good job of taking some of that democratic vote away too. 4 more years... :toast:

 Yes Sir Kosar. Good observation my friend!!

"Steams,

I see all these articles ect why Iraq and not N Korea.
Location,location ,location.

N Korea just happens to border S Korea and China.
The only threat they are to U.S. the way I see it is our miltary in S Korea and possibilty of selling Nukes to rouge nations. I just can't see them being a nuclear threat to us. If you take into consideration we have anti balistic missle defense set up to counter hundreds of soviet long range missles from past and we are sweating bullets on country that has handful of crude ones(last long test exploded in air shortly after send off) Right!!
---and I said before and will say again, if push comes to shove China has much more to lose than us and will step in. They are pushing for bilateral talks for solely one reason,They to not want to increase their economic aid spending to support this devatated country and if we pull our chips back that will be their only recourse. Now I am not the sharpest tack in the box but I am totally clueless why we sent aid in the past to enable N Korea to use all their resources for military. In a sense we paid for their military buildup. It is amazing to me the cost that both parties Rebs and Dems have put on this country by supporting a country in one decade and then going to war against them and then having to support country after war. If not for Bush Sr and Swartzkoff blunder of not finishing job 1st time we wouldn't be in situation we are today."There has got to be something behind that scene the public is not aware of back then.--and most probably greed.

DTB we are taking out Iraq becasue we fear they will sell WMD. At least that has been main reason. Then the next day it becasue we need to remove Saddam. So if N Korea only threat is selling some WMD. Well it just seems odd we give them a pass dont talk to them. Iraq we were told is 6 years or more from having any nukes. And with all the inspectors that were there im not sure when they would have built any. True N Korea has two maybe three nukes and no one seems to think there very good ones. But in the mean time we dont talk to them and they are bulding more. I would call that no policy to do nothing. I mean we cant wait to get one war started and look the other way some place else. Strange how Iraq that is father away from us then N Korea is so important. Oil has to also play apart. N Kora has none.

Who knows about N. Korea. I think they are starting to realize if they do develop a bunch of nukes, they would be in some serious trouble. To many countries around them would deystroy them. Plus many countries keep that country running with all of its supplies.
