I answered your question best I could in the steam moves thread. I don't consider mself a "technical" handicapper", but I understand lines moves. 90% of the time it is public money and I want to be on the opposite side, but there are lines moves and then there are line "moves". From the early eighties until I was "forced" to retire in 1993 I was a small time BM and while 95%+ of my customers were losers there was a small percentage that consistently won. They were my most important clients because they didn't tap out. I learned to add to it and pass it on.
Today, I still watch the lines closely and look for the true "moves" and other than that I only handicap marginally. Heck, guys like you and the others here at Mad Jacks are just like those valued clients back in the old days. I keep pretty good records of all the cappers on here by pretending to book your plays . . . and those of you who "virtually" beat my brains in, I just add some and pass it on. I may reformat it into parlays or some other type of "lay off" action just like I used to, but I sift through all the opinions as if they were action and protect myself from getting slammed.
Works pretty well and in case there are eavesdroppers here that may think I am still in the business . . . no way. I haven't booked a bet since March of 1993.
