Maybe if I narrow things down a bit it will spark some conversation.
NYM/CIN
Syndergaard goes for the Mets today who has beed solid recently and draws a team that is only mid-pack vs RHP. I'm not going to try and sell anyone of the idea the Mets are good against RHP, but they are improving and draw Homer Bailey who, stinks. The Reds are not a good road team and a quick check of BVP shows the Mets likely lineup has 4 of the 8 batters over .400 WOBA against Bailey in the past.
I'd call this a pretty safe play and lay the -160
SEA/TEX
Texas is the better hitting team against LHP here, but just slightly. When we look at the pitching matchup it really isn't close. Martin Perez has been getting knocked around recently and it's actually an improvement for him from early in the year and he's actually worse at home than he is on the road.
SEA sends out Wade LeBlanc who has been solid recently minus a blowup against Houston who mashes LHP. Texas can hold their own against lefty's so it's with a little trepidation that I make this play, but Perez is right to be had.
BVP is heavily in our favor on this one.
SEA -130
CUBS/KC
KC just doesn't hit lefty's and we get Cole Hamels for the Cubs who's pedigree is better than his stats this year, but that isn't to say he isn't pitching OK recently. KC sends out Jakob Junis who has been next to awful recently. 1-5 in his last 7 starts with a WHIP of over 1.7 AND the Cubs don't screw around with RHP's, they just crush them. KC only has 15 wins at home, I don't see number 16 coming tonight.
Cubs minus the heavy (but justified) price of -200
DET/LAA
LAA does not hit lefty's well, I have them among the bottom three teams in the league against LHP and Detroit throws Matthew Boyd who has been very good recently giving up only three runs in his last three starts and one of those was against Boston. This is not a great pitching matchup for LAA. There isn't much BVP to go on here, but what there is does not favor LAA.
LAA throws Nick Tropeano and while Detroit is not good against RHP you have to look a bit deeper. The players in the line up for Detroit haven't had a lot of exposure to him, but are 7 for 17 in that limited experience. I may be reaching on this one, but I like Detroit.
DET +130
My plays will be:
Cubs/Mets Parlay
SEA
DET
Good luck and give me your thoughts.
