YTD: 12-9-1, staying afloat

Thursday night: Kent State -7 at Akron
I like Charlie Frye but I don't like the fact that they have been manhandled twice already this year (albeit to Penn State and Virginia). I don't expect another 30 point drubbing, but I expect Kent State to win comfortably.

Toledo -8 vs. Temple
Toledo is great at home. Temple is not great anywhere. Toledo's defense is suspect, but I don't see Temple scoring enough to keep up with Toledo in this one.

Memphis -2 at UAB
Memphis knows they were lucky last week and I expect them to buckle down and prove to everybody how good they really are. Wimprine is a fine QB and I think Memphis rolls.

Alabama +6 at Arkansas
With Croyle hurt, the Tide are not done. I think Shula has done a great job and I know that Marc Guillon is one of the best backup QBs in the conference. If Croyle was playing, this game would be a pick at worst. I don't see Guillon accounting for a six point difference.

Louisville -7 at UNC
UNC burned me last week as I went big with Georgia Tech, but I don't see them doing it again. Hard not to love Darian Durant, but he doesn't have enough help. Offensively, Louisville is as deep as any team in the nation.

Boston College +2 at Wake Forest
Big revenge game for the Eagles. BC has great linemen on both sides of the ball. Callendar may not be as good as his predecessors, but he will do at tailback for BC and I believe LV Whitworth may be back this game too.

Bowling Green +1 at Northern Illinois
Big revenge game for NIU but I am sticking with Bowling Green. I like what their new QB has done and I don't see the magic in NIU this year.

Northwestern +15.5 at Minnesota
Minnesota's poor performance last week is an indication of their weaknesses and I expect Basanaez and the potent Northwestern offense to exploit those weaknesses. I can only hope that the amazing Minnesota running game is held to under 300 yards.

Washington +10.5 at Notre Dame
I don't think the Huskies are too hot this year but I don't think ND deserves to lay this many points. They gave up too many points to a Michigan State team that couldn't score against a Rutgers team that got torched by New Hampshire.

Best of luck to everyone.

Like the picks but..
Minnesota POOR performance...
This forum loved CSU and Minny went in to CSU and dominated
I played Minny and never sweated it...
May still play Northwestern but Minny looked good to me

Appreciate the feedback.
I was referring more to the Illinois State game and I mistakenly said last week. I did not play the CSU-Minnesota game, but you can't argue with how they shut down Colorado State. The question now is what defense shows up- the one who got torched by Illinois State for 370 yards through the air or the one that stymied Colorado State? I guess my money is on the first defense, but we'll see. Should be a good game.
