Really like Toledo +7

Looks like gman beat me to it, but here goes anyway...

This is my view from a more subjective angle:

Think the MAC is pissed off constantly getting screwed this time of the year. Every year it seems the one team that gets sent from the MAC to the tourny gets out of the first round and sometimes furthur. Kent State, Central Michigan, etc. Think it'll be no different this year. Western Michigan will have no trouble with the "lower" seeded Vanderbilt.

Anyway, any MAC team is out there at this time of year to make a statement and I think that Marquette could really give two shits about the NIT. Not to mention Toledo might be the better team anyway. As jmizeus said about the common opponent Depaul. Toledo won @ depaul and Marquette lost @ depaul.
I'm going to admit I was wrong about Toledo's Keith Triplett guy. He is a big time player, who's future is uncertain (academic reasons) and doesn't even know if he'll be back next year. This could be considered a senior type year for him and trust me he's going to want to strutt his stuff on national TV and show off to any potential scouts.

Side note:

Noone in the MAC expected Kent to get an at-large bid but when, Air Force, BYU, Dayton, and Richmond all got in as at-large schools its a low blow to the MAC. Kent could have beaten any of these guys. There argument would be that Kent hasn't played well as of late. Ok so then where are the Bulls in the NIT? They won 8 of their last 9 (they have beaten two teams that are in the NIT). And guess what is even worse, there is an NIT game being played in alumni (UB's arena). But it's Niagara hosting a game! Guess who beat Niagara in Niagara earlier in the year, thats right, the bulls! So now they come in steal their arena because their crappy facility that holds 2,400 max isn't good enough? Give the damn spot to the Bulls and let them host a game in their own arena. They deserve it more then a team that plays in the MAAC that couldn't beat them in their own house. Sorry just a MAC/bulls fan venting...

So anyways my point is, the MAC is pissed (as usual this time of year). No better way then to make a statement tonight on national TV (it's the only game on). This would be a huge win for the MAC. Agree with gman and jmizeus that this line is out of whack. Might dabble on the moneyline.

Niagra's RPI (98) was much higher than Buffalo's (136). That being said this is the typical NIT field. They will take every 500+ team form the majors and then spread the wealth around to the other conferences. To them there just isnt room for more than a couple of MAC teams.

PS Just on RPI criteria, all of the teams you mentioned were also higher than Kent (76). Kent's other problem was that they didnt have any good non-conf wins - played BC close and lost to Rhode Island. Dog Air Force all you want, but wins over Byu and Utah (2) certainly are better.

No, I totally agree. I did not expect the Bulls to make the NIT especially with Kent and Toledo going. But to give Niagara the Bulls arena in an area where the two schools are fighting for recruits? It just doesn't make sense. Doesn't bode well with me or other MAC fans or schools.

he announced last week that he was coming back for his senior year

Yes Hellah but he HAS to get cleared by the ncaa to play next year. He has a learning disability and if he does not show significant advancement towards getting his degree the ncaa will not clear him to play next year.

Note to Sun Tzu. All your points are valid, but I'm just arguing why the MAC is unhappy. I'm not going to get in a Buffalo/Kent argument on why they should make the the NIT/NCAA respectively. Leave RPI aside Kent just looks like the better team over these guys. Kent gets hurt with RPI because the teams they play which are solid teams have worse RPI's then they should. Ex: Losing to a Bulls team with an RPI of like 160 who could of clearly beaten at that time the next 50 teams ahead of them in RPI. Not to mention every team in the MAC comes out to play when Kent is in town.. Anyways I know its hard for you Sun, because we all know you have sand in your vagina, but can we try and keep this to a toledo/marquette discussion please

Your usual classy post. Now run along to class.

Just please don't come into my threads and post anymore if your just going to be a woman and pick on little things that had nothing to do with my main point. I see you do this to almost everyone. Do you serve any sort of purpose at this board or you just here trying to piss everyone off? You go around to everyone's posts trying to pick fights with everyone. Just do me a favor and get out of my threads.

Haha yeah I was there. I know the guy who starts the "F U ____" chants and I just want to slug the guy. I hadn't seen him at a game once this entire year, he shows up at the Kent State game and started an F U kent state chant. Now it's like a staple chant he starts every game. I'm really embarassed by it, but I can't really complain now that we actually have fans. What made me laugh was our "we can't hear you" chant. Toledo fans were chanting something but we couldn't hear a damn word they were saying. Funny stuff...
Yeah our dance team is disgusting. Kind of representative of girls in Buffalo to tell you the truth.

Anyways... tonight i'll be cheering FOR toledo.
