Really like Toledo +7
Looks like gman beat me to it, but here goes anyway...
This is my view from a more subjective angle:
Think the MAC is pissed off constantly getting screwed this time of the year. Every year it seems the one team that gets sent from the MAC to the tourny gets out of the first round and sometimes furthur. Kent State, Central Michigan, etc. Think it'll be no different this year. Western Michigan will have no trouble with the "lower" seeded Vanderbilt.
Anyway, any MAC team is out there at this time of year to make a statement and I think that Marquette could really give two shits about the NIT. Not to mention Toledo might be the better team anyway. As jmizeus said about the common opponent Depaul. Toledo won @ depaul and Marquette lost @ depaul.
I'm going to admit I was wrong about Toledo's Keith Triplett guy. He is a big time player, who's future is uncertain (academic reasons) and doesn't even know if he'll be back next year. This could be considered a senior type year for him and trust me he's going to want to strutt his stuff on national TV and show off to any potential scouts.
Side note:
Noone in the MAC expected Kent to get an at-large bid but when, Air Force, BYU, Dayton, and Richmond all got in as at-large schools its a low blow to the MAC. Kent could have beaten any of these guys. There argument would be that Kent hasn't played well as of late. Ok so then where are the Bulls in the NIT? They won 8 of their last 9 (they have beaten two teams that are in the NIT). And guess what is even worse, there is an NIT game being played in alumni (UB's arena). But it's Niagara hosting a game! Guess who beat Niagara in Niagara earlier in the year, thats right, the bulls! So now they come in steal their arena because their crappy facility that holds 2,400 max isn't good enough? Give the damn spot to the Bulls and let them host a game in their own arena. They deserve it more then a team that plays in the MAAC that couldn't beat them in their own house. Sorry just a MAC/bulls fan venting...
So anyways my point is, the MAC is pissed (as usual this time of year). No better way then to make a statement tonight on national TV (it's the only game on). This would be a huge win for the MAC. Agree with gman and jmizeus that this line is out of whack. Might dabble on the moneyline.
