Not knowing much about this guy when he first started into politics but just knowing now that he is a poster child for why our political parties have ebbed to a low in history, but based on his quote below I have a question. Judging from his quote, Tom seemed to ahve his head on right, but is it success and power that leads one to become corrupt and is this just the nature of the beast in Washington that changes a man?

"The time has come that the American people know exactly what their Representatives are doing here in Washington. Are they feeding at the public trough, taking lobbyist-paid vacations, getting wined and dined by special interest groups? Or are they working hard to represent their constituents? The people, the American people, have a right to know."

-- Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX), on the House floor, November 16, 1995.

Nah, the bug man has always been scumbag #1 in Washington. He hides behind his self righteous indignation while he is commiting crimes and ripping off taxpayers. He's also a class A hypocrite who changes him mind on major issues like he's changing his socks. Remember his idiocy on the Terry Schiavo situation?

I agreed with his stance(however pandering it might have been) on the Schiavo deal, but he is a snake of the biggest order, IMO.

Kosar,

No problem with your stance, he took a different one with his own family. Kind like Al Bore with the Cuban kid. People should stick to their beliefs and not change in the middle of a hot news story. It's why you have to like McCain, he doesn't just side with Bush because that's the Republican thing to do.

USA or Wall Street Maybe the Times had list today they quoted on CNBC. Of some deals this guy got from lobbyist. Holly Chit has he and friends had some parties. I'm not as good with this machine as some of you. So if someone can find that list would be nice.

Kosar,

uh, no he didn't

two completely different cases

not sure why you insist on showing your ignorance day in and day out

i guess i will have to again educate you from a medical professional's standpoint

there was no POA problems in Delay's family
there was no question of foul play (WITH lack of an investigation) in Delay's family
there was no secondary gain in Delay's family
there was no familial disagreement in Delay's family
there was no diagnostic disagreement in Delay's family
there was no refusal of comfort and care in Delay's family
there was no dehydration as a cause of death in Delay's family

is that enough to show you that these were different issues/not a standard, run-of-the-mill discontinuation of treatment case (Shiavo)?

or are you going to insist on beating your head into the wall

Douche Bag says what? Did Rush Limbaugh tell you that Dr? Why does Burger King require Medical Professionals?

its unfortunate that these points i have made were not put forth by the media when this case was being discussed so that minions like you are able to know the not-so-subtle differences between this case and grandma having her respirator shut off

Baltrey,

I'll take Freeze's stance on this one.

I think that Schiavo's case got a lot more traction that any 'normal' case due to our Governors relationship with the Prez, but on a personal level, I agree with what they tried to do.

No biggie Kosar, most folks would pull the plug if their life came down to what she had for those last years. To each their own on that one and we'll never all agree on it.

Washington Wednesday AP Post Delay under fire. Fund raising empire of Delays provides him and his family with four star experiences at donors expense. His visits with this money $250000 to golf resorts over 40 times To restaurants with 100 dollar a plate dining. The use of private planes to fly all over the world. Even visits to top cigar shops to the tune of $1900. Staying at 4/5 star hotels over $300000 spent last 9 years. Man he's doing OK with fund raising money. Not using his own money. You can see it's easy to spend other folks cash. Will be interesting the part that some of the money came from children's charity of Texas. A charity Delay created during his rise to power.

Looks like one on his way out. But watch some of those folks with out to many smarts vote him in this fall.
He of course looks to be just the start. Watch all these elected coons start to talk about the reforms needed.
Why not start by following the laws in place now.
