Listening to the post game call in show right now. The Barners are in rare form tonight.
I don't see how Tubbs makes it past this season. Has to win 2 of these next 4 four games just to be 6-6. At Ole Miss, UT-Martin, Georgia and at Alabama.

The Tigers (4-4) managed just 33 second-half yards, were shut out over the final 40 minutes and now have a three-game losing streak. That hadn't happened since 1999, coach Tommy Tuberville's first season.

I have put a lot of thought into the future of Auburn football. Let's look at a couple of scenarios on how to be successful in the future:
Option 1: Keep Tubbs
For us to continue to compete in increasingly difficult world of the SEC, we need to hire an oustanding, young, energetic OC who eats, sleeps, and breathes recruiting. The last two years we have been out-recruited by Saban, Meyer, Richt, Miles and maybe even Spurrier. However, there is a major problem with this scenario: Whoever this mystery OC is, if he does drastically improve the offense with scheme and players, he will be gone in two years. He will be snapped up by some other school to be their HC. History tells us this... Petrino to L'ville and Muschamp to Texas.
Option 2: Fire Tubbs
Bring an outstanding, young, energentic HC who eats, sleeps and breathes recruiting. For this scenario to work, we may have to take a step back, to take a two steps forward. However, within two years, I think we will be right there with Alabama and LSU competing for the west.
At the end of two years, under Option 1, we will be right back where we started. We will again lose a very talented coordinator and have to find another one.
At the end of two years, under Option 2, we will be a lot better off. We have an established HC and be positioning ourselves to compete for a National championship.
Both options are problematic however. Option 2, costs an already cash strapped university $6 million.
Option 1 is the definition of insanity. Continue trying the same thing expecting different results.
I DO BELIEVE I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION!
Keep Tubbs and hire that oustanding, young, energetic "Coach in Waiting" who eats, sleeps, and breathes recruiting. Let Tubbs coach two more years while we groom this new guy to take over. We will not have to take a step back, Tubbs can leave on great terms for him and leaves the program in great shape.
P.S. We have to fire the barbeque bunch (Nall, Ensminger, Knox) no matter what.

man that was the softest SEC team I've ever seen. Even Tennessee with their coaching problems was going hard for 4 quarters in the Rose Bowl.
Auburn needs to blow out that coach, those kids are not going to fight for him.
