About a week ago I said that Van Exel was going to "shoot the Mavs outa these playoffs at some point......the man has NO conscience". I could look the thread up to prove it but I don't really think that's necessary.

-In the 2nd round playoff games with SAC, Van Exel's numbers look like this:

--> game 1 31 min....15 points and 7-15

--> game 2 35 min....19 points and 8-18

--> game 3 39 min....7 points and 3-11

--> game 4 STARTED THE GAME....4 points and 2-10

-Van Exel is 20 of 54 and suck'n air at 37% shooting for the SAC series! Why in the heck is Nellie STARTING him?? Doesn't make any sense to me!

-Combine that with Nash's 9 turnovers on Saturday and you've isolated the two huge reasons the Mavs are down 3-1 and facing elimination tonight.

-The SAC players are answering the call during adversity. Christie has got to be one of the toughest guys in the NBA. I still can't believe he came back from that "ugly" ankle sprain in game 3 and then that crash to the floor at the begining of 2H on Saturday.

-This SAC team has the WILL to win!!

-The Mavs have Van Exel!

-Tonight....the Mavs will need to take their TO's at mid-court to even hear Nellie "fart" before they smell it. Pay-back is a come'n in SAC tonight and the Mavs are on the ropes.

Therefore....what to do?

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

I think this 214 total is a bit dicey tonight. I've been on the right side of each total in all 4 Mavs/SAC games so far.....but this one is almost impossible to know. If you play this total over....your just guess'n and hope'n Nellie and/or Adelman aren't change their gameplans toward a "little" defensive effort.

TO ME.....IF EITHER COACH DECIDES TO GO DEFENSIVE (even if for just a little while during the game) this one falls under the 214 total. Defense at some point tonight is a HUGE possiblity!!

I still remember that defensive "gem" Dallas pulled out in the 2nd period of game 2 with the T-wolves. Dallas can play defense and so can the Kings (when they want too). Something tells me we will see some defense tonight as Dallas faces elimination!

Heck....Utah played the Kings a closer series than this.....because of their physical play on the defensive end of the court! Wake the "frick-up" Nellie....your team is done if ya don't get physical from here on out.

My lean (guess) is under 214. Also, a lean towards SAC...cause Van Exel's suppost to START AGAIN!

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

So far play'n ---> Mavs/Kings under 214

2-1...Yesterday

Nets +4' "W"

Net/Hornets under 91 2H "W"

Spurs +3' 2H "L" <---Man they blew it bigtime!

146-100-3...YTD ez

You guys are shooting bullets right through my maverick heart.:eek:
No one from the mavs has had a great series yet and in the what if world they were one tip in from a chance to make the series 2-2. Dallas is a young team that will not give up. I look for Dallas to play hard tonight. Don Nelson is a good coach he won't let this team fold. They did not fold against Utah last year when they were down. Don't count those Mavs out.

Good Luck.

I really do like the Mavs...........

I really do like the Mavs...........

they play exciting bball and are the best team in the NBA to watch......however:

-They need to ditch Bradley and get a big man that can really body up in the paint. If you say the Mavs are soft inside.....then he's a huge reason why.

-Webber and Pollard have been kill'n the Mavs down low going to the bucket.

-Bibby has beat the Mavs horribly off-the-dribble on the pick-and-rolls in "crunch time". Where have the hard fouls been??

-Remember what the Jazz gave the Kings?

-Buckner could put Bibby in the first or second row on those runs at the basket......instead Nellie has Finley in the game (think'n only OFFENSE). Instead......Bibby just blows right by Finley and Nowitzki for key winning buckets!!

-The Mavs simply can't come up with any "key" defensive stops at the critical times of the games to secure the win.

-Nellie must have some defensive effort outa his team. You aren't going to win an NBA Championship these days play'n no defense at all.

Dallas can and must play SOME defense tonight.....even though Najera is hurt....he can't commit 3 stupid fouls in a 12 second span of time.
Futhermore, LaFrentz (who Dallas supposedly got for defense) needs to go to work supply'n a little defense for this defensively inept team.

The LAL showed how to play "crunch time" defense yesterday......hold'n SAN scoreless for 5+ minutes to end the game.

Dallas either steps up with some physical defense or their season ends tonight......and I sure hope it doesn't.....because I LOVE TO WATCH THE MAVS PLAY!! ez

Dirks early play hurt them, was ice cold when Mavs needed early
jump after 12-1 lead. He got hot later! He must go to Hoop earlyand then go outside. Seemed bad adjustment by Mavs &
good moves by Kings where the difference. In ot its seemed that
Sac was pushing the ball ! and Dal was slowing down? Great
series for Bball! As for Van excel, maybe Nellie is letting him walk
the plank?Watch Nellie for almost 30/40 years Nick the Quick is
not his type of player! Sac can stop Dal but Mavs can't stop Sac!
:rolleyes: :nono: :nono:

I need to charge Danny & John a writing fee.............

I need to charge Danny & John a writing fee.............

looks like they're quoting my thread verbatim! LOL

The Mavs better tighten it up........man the floor is so spread out that Bibby just walks to the basket. Defend somebody you "soft jokers".

The "funks" on me! :D ez

215.............

215.............

tight line!

Congrats to the over players........I baled my A$$ out with the 2H under and came close to bust'n my man!

I know exactly were I lost this play......it was when Webber literally walked past that defensive "he-man" Bradley as if he wasn't there for a "give me"! Bradley plays less than a minute and kills me.

Dallas defense was nonexistant again tonight and they paid for it with elimination. ez
