Orioles/Rangers over 10.5
I'm not really crazy about the hook here, but I like this play nonetheless. Scott Erickson gets the nod today for the Texas Rangers vs, the Orioles who have been tearing the cover off the ball lately. In Erickson's last start vs. the Expos, Erickson was crushed for 7 hits, 3 walks, and 7 ER's in just 2 innings. Texas used up a good chunk of their bullpen in last nights contest vs. the Orioles so if Erickson gets in early trouble, look for the flood gates to open up. The O's have scored 6 or more runs in 4 out of 5 games this week. I don't anticipate that to change any today. For Baltimore, Rodrigo Lopez takes the hill, his overall ERA isn't to bad this year, but opponents are averaging 7.3 RPG vs. Lopez at Camden Yards this year. In his last 3 outings, Lopez has really had trouble locating his pitches. In his last 3, Lopez has a WHIP of 1.91 and an ERA of 5.74. I look for the potent Rangers bats to get back on track today facing a struggling Lopez at hitter friendly Camden yards. Tim Welke is behind the plate today, he is a little bit of an under umpire, but still calls under 63% strikes. The over is 8-1-1 in Erickson's last 10 starts. Lets hope it goes to 9-1-1 in his last 11. GL today gentlemen.
