Akron is suffering from just about every ill that one can think of. Their offensive woes begin with their point guard situation. Remember when their point, Abreu(sp) got busted with the 5 lbs of pot last year?? Well he was a good player, ran the offense well and could shoot it as well. He was expected to run the show again this year so Keith didn't recruit a point guard this season but signed a JUCO guy that just isn't running the offense well at all. They also graduated 7' center Zeke Marshall who was one of the nation leading shot blockers. He really changed the way people attacked the Zips. He pretty much shut down the lane. S Carolina just went to the hole and crashed the glass with ease against them.
On top of all that there is some internal squabbing going on and this team seems to lack the character and guts of their past teams. They have never looked worse than I saw them in their 2 games with SC. They have won at least 20 games the past 8-9 years but that strek appears to be in danger.
I had no idea they would be as bad as they are so far.
