Cubs had Jones traded yesterday but the deal was nixed by the powers that be upstairs. The organization would have had to eat a relatively small amount of money but refused. It seems the guys running the team now until the final "i"'s are dotted at the end of the year, have been told they cannot spend ANY money. Big Z had a deal in the works early in the year but all talks were frozen the minute the team was sold. The team had already spent a ton prior to that. They may have to deal big Z by the trade deadline or risk getting nothing for him.:scared He wants big coin and they haven't had any talks about his future. They could keep him and make their playoff run (or not).
