Betsy doesn't want to allow prayer back in school.
She wants to require it. Her brand, and only her brand of prayer.
Fuck that. What are Muslim, Jewish and atheist kids supposed to do when Betsy rams her version of fundamentalism down their throats?
Prayer belongs in Mosques, Synagogues and Churches.
Factual education like Darwin belongs in schools.

She is a joke, and the confirmation hearings have been interesting. Bernie Sanders and a few others nailed her with a few great zingers. That being said, I don't think her support for charter schools (which has and detractors on all sides of the political spectrum) is such a bad thing.
Honestly, I favor dissolving the Department of Education anyway. It didn't exist prior to 1980, and I am not so sure education has improved since it was created. Sending a bunch of taxpayer money to Washington only to get sent right back to local schools (with strings attached) seems very inefficient. Cut out the bureaucracy and allow state control of schools. Some oversight of education at the federal level might be beneficial, but I am not sure what we have now helps education.

Here's the deal. She wants privately run schools, accountable to no national standard, to exist and be able to teach whatever curriculum and beliefs they want.
That's fine with me. We have had Catholic, Jewish, and other non-mainstream schools forever.
But what Betsy WANTS, is for those schools to be funded with federal (that's all of us) money, taking that money away from local non-political, non-ideological schools.
In other words, defund public schools and give the money to privately run, for profit ideological schools who will teach Betsy's brand of Fundamentalism. That is, she wants to defund and destroy the non ideological schools which have served this country so well for so long and replace them with Amway schools. Which operate at a profit. A profit for her, to add millions of $ more to her pocket, and to teach her brand of religious hatred.
She wants to destroy our public school for all system. The finest public school system on earth.
