i'm just trying to reason (as goofy as that sounds) out the winner among teams left

teams available to pick are in BOLD

1pm games

cin (@ NO) - n orleans at home diff team. cincy has fallen off the cliff as far as confidence, i think. even still, have horses to matchup well with home monster that is NO. i, personally, having all the venom laced hatred for dalton still fresh, would take cincy, gun to my head if had to pick winner of this game. will new orleans lose 2 in a row at home? with their unreal home record what it is

KC (vs sea) - speaking of teams jeckyl hyde home/away splits, sea is usually that team, though even looking skittish at home of late (minus the 2H vs giants). can you trust alex smith to do enough to win against a decent to good defense, even at home?

sf (@ NYG) - west coast team, going east. not an earlier game for them, though cross country travel. giants pass d was supposed to have been what was weakened, though was never tested, as sea stayed almost exclusvily run against'm... and run they did. i like the team makeup of the giants more than i do the 9ers (read: in tight game, would favor giants). personnel wise, edge goes to frisco, who, apparently, surprisingly so, are a top 5 defense this year, league rank wise. what giants team shows up?

CLV (vs hou)- cleveland defense can win games and let offense not lose it, though occasion even too (like most teams) have unexpected hiccups, where looks like their best effort isnt there, or even if is there, just dont catch the breaks. going against QB in mallet should feast, right? but do you know what you're getting as far as his tendencies (enough tape on him)?-off a bye on top of. i dont like going against 1st time starters, strictly because dont know what you're getting

hou (@ CLV)

CAR (vs atl) - is cam hurt? even if he wasn't, does that line get better. even though will be going against team that cant rush passer... you gotta think falcons will get some points (?). i actually like what should expect from car defense going against atl offense at home.. though what cam shows up . sulky or hurt cam, or i just scored from 3 yds out to make game 17-13 and gonna show off my superman celebration(?).

atl (@ CAR)

minn (@CHI) - is min among top teams in sacks, is that right? going against Chicago, well, one would think that would spell disaster. Don?t bet against that team though, because of allll the squads that are due, they are (CHI?). If cutler shows up and wants to play, they?ll win. Rides entirely on if anyone in bears organization says the right thing to light fire under his ass (this week). Too much rides, on the makeup of weak minded qb in that game.. another stay away? Minn or nothing, but then you?re backing defense and teddy bridgewater, right?

4pm games

ARIZ (vs det) - not soo much the loss of palmer, but how team as whole been playing, not really to what score has shown, needing a last minute pick 6 to salt away game vs washington's cousins, and trailing until 21 point explosion, 2 def tds, long td pass in 4th Q after palmer goes down).

det (@AZ) - can stafford NOT lose this game (read: throw dumb interceptions). its my feeling that AZ's defense can be had - even though i wouldve rather palmer not go down to have more faith in that feel. can you see their defense trying extra hard, because feel needta to be extra sharp now that, again riding a backup qb, rest of the way? does that help, or hurt their performance? detroit has a defense that i think actually wins this game.

GB (vs phi) - gb is playing good, but not to level that chicago made them look. philly defense, more their secondary looked better than i thought, against carolina, though good pass rush (vs weak car O line) will help a secondary look good. does green bay run into road block here, with offense sputtering, or maybe mccarthy mismanges clock, (or other aspect) and gives game away late. this reeks of team who has ball last wins, kinda game

MON NIGHT

pitt (@ TENN) - i know nothing of metzenberger, except what saw at LSU - and like his almost grittyness. tenn actually has avg-to-decent players, really at all points, i think.. can they stifle a pitt team that has looked avg away this year?

Judging from stats I say N.O. or Pitt.

Cincy 31st vs the run. WTF! N.O. 7th, oh and they throw it a little.

Pitt def sucks, but so does tenn off. Pitt 9th rushing and 4th passing. Not sure this helps. GL

I noticed that the Saints at 4-5 are giving this pretty good 5-3-1 Bengals team 7.5 points....I think the Saints win big....So the Saints should be a easy SU winner.

Good luck!

I know it's a prime time game and a road team but I would go with Pittsburgh. They are getting roasted here this week in media. The concept is to survive and advance but if you were to look ahead Pittsbughs other five games are tough in my opinion And this may be last time to use them in on paper in an easier game. Titans can't score and can't take advantage of poor Steeler D.

I have to agree with NBA KID, Saints are the way to go on this, I see them smashing Cincy at home. Saints will be able to pound this on the ground against the weak Cincy rush stopping unit, and obviously they have weapons through the air, ranked top 5 in passing and total offense. I don't see Cincy keeping up with the saints :SIB

Rodgers over Sanchez all day. Marky will struggle vs the Pack

Packers is the play

I agree.......and be careful going against mettenberger at home...I thought he moved the ball very well at times last week vs the ravens.....I`d be a bit worried about the steelers on the road vs anybody...

this mettenberger has a chance to be decent....and tenn`s offensive and defensive lines aren`t bad at all...

btw...for my Pittsburgh "friends"(all good dudes all that I`ve come across on this site),I certainly wouldn`t trust the ravens in a survivor pool on the road either....at this point in the season, both teams are tough outs at home and shaky(at best) on the road...

that, along with all the other insights, opinions is why i always end up at this site. appreciated GW, and all.

if ever we could get enough non-homer local opinions on teams/games, i think the whole of us as a group could certainly make some hay. thanks again
