I'm going to do my best to contribute to the forum this season by giving you my thoughts on UK hoops. I hate betting on my team, because they are often overvalued as many top teams are. So keep in mind I will look for every reason to go against the grain and avoid being a homer. Keep in mind I go through a local in Lex. so I may get some generous lines with all the money that comes in on UK. Here's a few thoughts on tonight's contest.
Smith will be coaching against a pair of familiar faces. Tennessee Tech coach Mike Sutton, who broke into coaching with Smith at Virginia Commonwealth in the early 1980s, was his assistant at Kentucky from 1997-2002.
Sutton hired Saul Smith - Tubby's son - as an assistant in the offseason. Saul Smith, who played for Kentucky from 1998-2001, will be making his first trip to Rupp Arena as a visitor.
Tubby is a class act, he will probably pull his starters early in the second half to avoid embarassing his old right hand man and his son.
Take Tenn. Tech +30
I expect to get at least +31 by tipoff after the "true blue" fans hammer the cats.
