KANSAS CITY (Greinke) +125 over TORONTO (Towers) winner
The Royals are still a long way from becoming a top tier
franchise, but they are worth a shot as an underdog in
this one. Josh Towers was the most miserable starter
in the majors last year (-$870, 9.12 ERA), who saw his
team lose 10 of the 12 games he started before they
pulled the plug. On the other side, Zach Greinke is one
of the most promising young hurlers in the majors. He
demonstrated this in his first start of the season, when
he allowed just one earned run in seven innings vs. the
Bosox. For all their woes in 2006, the Royals made a
fortune in night games vs. righthanders (+$3185). It
is hard to pass them up when they've got such an
enormous edge in the pitching matchup.
