*Just got back from a long trip to the Valley for a Aunt Birthday @ CheeseCake Factory..... Some great food and time to see some family....

**Mon Recap..... 3-2 (+5 u).... Hardly anything to brag about buy +5 units is better than -5 units :0072

***One of my Buddy's love to lament and fill me in on various happenings in the games and he was on the Under in the Savannah game.... What was interesting, I was doing a quick check of scores to where things were at, before entering CheeseCake Factory and saw that the Savannah game was standing at 136 with about 2 minutes left, so I was feeling pretty good about the play, as I saw Morgan was down a ton......but Bethune-Cookman was way over the total, so was thinking 2 of 3 for a nice profit........ I don't watch the games, and that is precisely the reason why.... My buddy texts me while I'm eating dinner to cry that are Savannah Total went down, he said that over 20 points were scored in the final 2 minutes of that game which landed on 160.......x09::00x4:0045

As I have mentioned, these added games are very volatile and I think it was last week (Monday perhaps) that I lost 4-5 games in the smaller conferences by like 1 pt in each game.... Craziness but it's the nature of the game.

I have most of my Tues games done and in... Gluck if you play any of these.

Much appreciated Riff! Noticing that quite a few totals have dropped big time since your post, some 3-4 points. Would you still feel fairly comfortable playing them but maybe for less units? Examples....UVA, unc, Maryland, Lipscomb

Thanks for the time

I learned a long time ago that this profession, hobby, recreational activity, or whatever requires putting in the work if you are going to be successful. I appreciate the accolades... Hopefully cash a few tickets today.. Gl

That's a great question.... The reason I have been posting as early as possible is because I want people in here to be successful. By this I mean, there are a lot of people posting that can't get down on the original numbers, so all the value gets sucked out of the number. I'm not implying that I'm special as many times the number moves away from my wager. I don't really buy in to following steam, or "wise guy" action because points can usually be made for both sides of the number. That isn't to imply that when a big move is made that you shouldn't check it out (injury, weather, bus broke down, etc)........ I have spent years developing my power numbers (what I call them) and feel very confident that I can spot weakness in numbers when they post.

In answer to your question, I wouldn't personally play a side/total that moves 3.5 or more. Just isn't good economics. In fact, I just checked lines and several plays:

No Carolina/Georgia Tech (bet made at 149' is now 145'... That's a 4 point middle opp)

Virginia/NC St (bet 140' U...... Now 136....4.5 middle opp)

Northwestern/Maryland (bet 136' U...Now 132....4.5 middle opp)

Valpo/Miss St (bet 134 U...... Now 130....4 pt middle opp)

Nevada/UNLV (bet 149' O..... Now 153'....4 pt middle opp)

Lipscomb/Liberty (bet 133' O....... Now 138'....5 pt middle opp) *Actually opened at 132.....I drug my heels.

I have already bet the Lipscomb/Liberty Under at 138' as I couldn't resist the 5 pt mid......

I hope I have made a answer to your question... No, I wouldn't personally jump on a 4 pt move... All value is gone... There will be other opportunities.... Good Luck

You make salient points in your attempt to explain how you come to a "Pick"..... The one I find most important in that process is having confidence in "your system", whatever that is, and therefore able to take a unfazed wager.

This confidence in the system allows someone to confidently pick a side, and stick to it, even during those times, when most posted sides differ from yours, ( especially if some of those posters are people you respect).

I can't help to be amazed at the time it must entail...

Its clear in your case that the effort causes the effect.

Well Done Sir.

RIFFING UNBELIEVABLE!!

RIFFING UNBELIEVABLE!!

I walked the plank and stuck to the OVER in Lipscomb/Liberty, even after the Total had climbed to 137 around 10:00 a.m. c.s.t. this morning.

Both teams empty the benches with 2 minutes left and a 20 point Lipscomb lead.

A back-up for Liberty, down by 17, calmly drains a 25 foot 3 pt'er with 35 seconds left to hit 138.

Riff; thanks again for the plays today!!
