Kansas City area for who knows how long....
lotta guesses today..... watch out!

Anaheim---Giguere it should be. He's rested and just off his winning streak, in opposite one now.

Minne---Roloson is my guess. MN wants this one bad after 1-0 loss to Ducks earlier in season. Rolo has lost just one start this season

NY Islanders---Osgood is my guess. There's a well-publicized campaign to reach .500 before next year, and they could reach it tonight. Then they can rest until a Jan 3 game. ... Di Pietro has been sent down, Snow is backing Osgood........Buff beat NYI is season opener 5-1, so that's more motivation...NYI are 3-3 on 0 days rest, Buff is 1-7-1....both are playing 3rd game in 4 nights too.

Buffalo---Miller? Biron started last night, let in soft one, was criticized by coach, and has started 16 of last 17. Miller recalled other day.

NY Rangers---Dunham. He's rested and ready, but Blackburn was reported to start in last one.....NYR have played Carolina well this season, beating them twice.... and Rangers have played very well after embarassing losses (recent ones were Pitt and Atl).

Carolina---Weekes, it should be.

Ottawa---Prusek is my guess. But who knows? Ott paper sez "Senators coach Jacques Martin wasn't sure if G Martin Prusek will start tonight against the Bolts. But a four-game week has Martin promising the backup will see some action. Depending on the outcome last night, G Patrick Lalime could make the start and Prusek could face Atlanta (Thursday) or Buffalo (Saturday) at home
Ott is 3-2-2 on 0 days rest....3-0-1 last 4 visits to TB...

Tampa Bay---Khabib it should be.....TB is 11-4-1-1 at home, and unbeaten last 3 there...interesting piece here on Ott's defensive strategy and what TB could do about it.......http://www.sptimes.com/2002/12/31/Lightning/Senators_looking_to_n.shtml

ST Louis---Johnson, I would expect. He's 1-4 vs Det, but 4-0 his last starts with 1.25 gga winning NHL Player of the Week. Wings will want to show him up! He's 5-1-2 on season, 1.85 gga, .931 save pct.

Detroit---Joseph I expect. New Years game and night a big deal in hockeytown say newspapers.

Pittsburg---Hedberg sez Pitt Trib-Review. official site just sez he'll "be in lineup" tonight. Pitt is 2-4 on 0 days rest.

Columbus---Denis, it must be.

Montreal----Theodore sez faceoff.com

Calgary---Turek I expect.

Edmonton----Salo "is expected" say Dallas paper. He started last night, and played overtime. Markannen got a bruise in practice other day.

Dallas---Turco is my guess. were rumors of Tugnutt getting start other day, and coach sez he will definitely get more next month....Turco, in four games vs Edmn, has given up just 5 goals....Dallas is 5-0-1 on New Years Eve since moving to Dallas...Dallas is 11-1-3-1 at home this season....Edmn is a famous 0-13-1 last 14 trips to the big D....

Toronto---Belfour, it should be......He's been asked if he'll have another dressing room nut-job tantrum like last visit to Vanc. Sez he won't.....May want to prove something, but he's an exceptionally difficult job to predict (even compared to other goalies!)...
Leafs have top 3 scorers out, probably. Quinn said Mogilny should play tonight, but Mogilny didn't sound that optimistic himself talking to press. Quinn even tried Pilar as a forward in practice other day.

Vancouver---Cloutier, it should be.

good luck to all! Happy New Year!
