2 units.......st.johns (+9.5) over syracuse

syracuse coming off 2 big games vs ranked conference opponents (a loss to uconn, and then a win vs notre dame), and theyve got a big non-conference game with michigan state coming up- so this looks to be a spot where syracuse is just content to get the win and move on. and it doesnt hurt that the johnnies are a desperate team right now trying to work their way back into the bubble picture for the tournament- and a road win in syracuse would greatly strengthen their resume right now.

every team knows hes getting the ball and gonna take a plethora of shots- but nobody really is able to shut him down. the cuse zone has ways of limiting scorers, but this kid is good enough from the outside to still get his.

if he doesn't get 23, then sju is in serious trouble.. without him they are no better than..... ummm... VMI!! lol..

obviously hatten's performance has a direct impact on the johnnies covering/not covering.
with syracuse letting up a lot of points lately, i think that allows for hatten to get 26 or 27 pts.

2 units.....michigan state (+6.5) over illinois

i know full well that msu blows on the road, and im aware their most recent road win was vs a struggling hoosier team. but i just feel this game will be very tight the whole way. msu is another team that is very much in danger of not making the tourney, and they desperately need a road win to add to their resume, and one in illinois, while it will not be easy to obtain, would be huge for the spartans.
