had a good streak going until yesterdays debacle. wmu got smacked pretty good. for tonight, played these for those interested:
3 units.....ohio university (+6) over northern illinois
hellah and i tried to make vows not to play on these jokers anymore, but each of us has occassionally given in to the temptation that "this is when the bobcats finally put it all together". ive gone a month and a half without playin a bobcat game- but damn it if they dont look REAL appealing tonight. obviously niu is playing out of their mind right now. theyre sizzling and on first glance it might be tough to go against em. but these guys are ROAD warriors who for some reason dont play as well at home. who knows why. not adjusted yet to the new arena? kinda weird, but they just dominate on the road, but are average at home.
niu on the road in conference:
BEAT toledo
BEAT ball state
BEAT ohio
BEAT bowling green
BEAT buffalo
BEAT kent state
talk about an impressive road resume.
but at home, its the opposite.
LOST to marshall
LOST to bowling green
BEAT eastern michigan
LOST to akron
northern illinois is on of those teams that is very close to breaking through toward the upper tier of the conference, but theyre young and inconsistent, which is expected.
to me, this line is a big time knee jerk reaction to niu's hot play of late. theyre playing GREAT but to be laying 6 in this spot is an AWFUL LOT of points.
maybe ohio will lay yet another egg. but i gotta take the points here. huskies are just too inconsistent at home to be laying 6 points to a super-talented, but grossly underchieving team.
