The Marlins come into Boston flying high after taking it to the Toronto Blue Jays. The DH really helped out the Marlins as they responded well offensively. The Red Sox head into this set as the best home team in the league but are set up for some letdown after big series against the Yankees and the Phillies. Wakefield goes for the Red Sox and he has pitched well for the Red Sox this evening but has been very hittable. Dustin Pedroia has had some trouble hitting as he is mired in a slump. This will be a hole in the middle of the lineup and will allow the Marlins to stop rallies by the home team. The Red Sox have won six series from the Marlins and will be shocked as the Marlins pull the upset.
Over Baltimore / Mets 9.5
The Orioles bats woke up in the series against the Braves over the weekend and look for that to carry over to the series against the Mets. Hot hitting is contagious and the team has proved that over the last two games. Gary Sheffield is hurting but playing at Baltimore will help because it will allow Jerry Manuel to play him at the designated hitter position against the O?s. Guthrie gets the nod for the O?s and that is good news for the hitting of the Mets because he has pitched poorly in his last two starts. He is 0-2 with an ERA over 8 and has had trouble with the long ball. This equals good hitting by both teams and the over cashing in.
Rockies -120
The Rockies have been on the best run in baseball. Jorge De La Rosa has been a solid part of the 12 game winning streak by the Rockies has he has won his last two starts while striking out 15. This confidence and the pitching adjustments will continue tonight against the Rays. The Rays are hot too but their weakness is on the road where they have lost seven of eight and games and they are just 1-5 in the last six at Denver. The streak continues with a Rockies win!
