Here are some game notes...
The Detroit Pistons take aim at their fifth straight win tonight and attempt to continue their best start in team history, as they start a five-game homestand against the Portland Trail Blazers at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
On Monday, Chauncey Billups stuck a 16-foot pull-up jumper with just 0.3 seconds on the clock to lead the Pistons over the Memphis Grizzlies, 106-104, in a double overtime thriller at the FedEx Forum.
The third time was a charm for Billups who had an opportunity to win the game at the end of regulation and in the first overtime.
Billups scored a team-high 30 points and added nine assists for the defending Eastern Conference champs, who won for the 10th time in their last 11 tries and improved to 19-3. Tayshaun Prince added 24 points and eight rebounds while Richard Hamilton had 19.
Detroit, which will also host Golden State, San Antonio, Toronto and Miami on the stand, is 7-1 in its arena this season.
Portland, meanwhile, enters on a winning note as well after Juan Dixon netted 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting against his former team, as the Trail Blazers beat the Washington Wizards, 97-92, at the Rose Garden.
Steve Blake added 14 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Trail Blazers, who snapped a three-game losing streak and won for just the second time in their last 11 games.
Viktor Khryapa chipped in 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the victory.
The Blazers, who will be starting a four-game road trip tonight, are 2-9 away from home this season. They will also visit Memphis, Minnesota and Sacramento on the swing.
Detroit defeated the Blazers earlier in the season and has won two straight and four of the last five meetings. Portland, though, has had success in the Motor City, where it has won six of seven and eight of 11.
