3-0-1 last night, counting the double play on tenn-chat. overall record now 49-36, 5-0 on double plays. as long as the linesmakers don't catch on, lebo and the mocs should make us some more dough this year. five plays for tonight:

nc state -3-: everyone knows i'm a wolfpack homer, and i've read all the forum opinions to the contrary, but i just don't see gonzo staying within dd of state. first time for nc state in the jimmy v classic, and coach sendek has given them chapter 2 of wolfpack history this week concerning coach v's '83 championship. last week, wolfpack players were acquanted with state's '74 national championship when they played a nostalgia game back in reynolds coliseum, pounding hapless nc a&t. old coach stormin' norman sloan was on hand, resplendid in red jacket and plaid pants. even mrs sloan was there to sing the nat'l anthem in that shrill voice of hers, the way she shrieked it out when i was in school in raleigh. david thompson, tommy burleson and others attended. the wolfpack will be very motivated tonight playing in this game. they are the more athletic team all around, and play much better d than the zags.

app st +1: i have no idea why smu is favored here. mustangs get smoked at wake on sunday and then get to spend two days in boone. unless you're a skier, not the most exciting place to be this time of year, and a bit frostier than dallas. smu is an unimpressive road team, and app has already has a home win over uncc, a team clearly superior to the mustangs.

se mo st +13-: se mo played within 8 at ark state, a comparable team to ualr. little rock was tied with four minutes to play at ua-pine bluff, who is just about the worst div 1 team in the country.

n az +21: i know ucla is improving, but this line is bloated with name recognition. lumberjacks a well coached team that runs the motion offense well, and i see some lazy bruins slacking off on d here while lookng forward in a big way to playing in kansas this weekend.

tenn-martin +17-: same situation here as the ucla game. tenn-martin a quality team with wins at sl louis and vs c fla. unlv asst coach deane martin was at martin through last season and set this game up. he recruited most of tenn-martin's players and, while he might have a scouting edge, pretty sure he will prevail on charlie not to run up the score if the rebels are up big in the second half, so back door should stay open if rebs get a sizeable lead.

Really like the NAU play. They could be in that one til the end. Also, have been following your plays for a while now, and always appreciate your insight. r
