i really hated to see last week end. might have been the best i've ever had in any sport. let's see if i can keep rolling.
st john's (+4) 2 units. imagine that? i'm going against syracuse. am i becoming too predictable? originally i didn't quite like this as much as my recent anti-syracuse plays. the orange are not a very good team, but they do have talented offensive players. they normally do most of their damage against inferior teams. st johns definitely qualifies as an inferior team. However, the johnies (or 'red storm') are still playing hard. and they've done a decent job at home. going backwards... they beat seton hall, covered against duke, actually led at halftime against louisville (only allowing 19 points in the first half), and beat south florida and rutgers, allowing 48 & 59 points. unlike syracuse, you can count on the johnies playing hard until the end.
one other factor... the line opened a hair low (5 vs 5.5) and has dropped a point, despite everybody being on syracuse.
i'm overdue to begin an ugly slide, but st johns appears to be the play tonight.
