Goood luck everyone!! :firing: :toast: :0074 :spotting: :em71: :drinky: :mj06:
MLB parlays this season: 1-17, +11.0 units (risk 1 unit each pick)... winner #1 posted Monday, August 14th...
Houston Arizona 3:40 Peacock (Banda - Astros have lost 10 of 13, tho it is rather hard to lose with Peacock pitching like this - but these Astros have figured ways to do just that!...not that AZ much better, losing 6 of 9. So I'd have to take Astros here, with the pitcher they rarely lose with, Astros are 10-3 this season when Peacock starts. But Banda has some nice skills and upside...so liking the under too.
Mets N.Y. Yankees 7:05 deGrom (Gray - They claim deGrominator is locked and ready to go, despite that 99mph liner which hit his arm and caused bruise....that ace Montero kept these slumbering Yanks bats mostly in check last night (Yanks did get those HR, but consistency has been the main problem), so looks like Gray, in his home debut, will suffer more lack of run support..Gray has had 2 starts with his new team, 4 ER across 6 innings, but has spoken of where he needs to improve....so I'm on the under...and thinking here's a game Mets can grab and help stall the Yanks posteason run, as that's all Mets have to play for today.
Angels Washington 7:05 Skaggs (Gonzalez - Gio been excellent this season, one poor start was vs Angels, tho he is almost always better 2nd time around (and he off a rough outing, should bounce back strong). But he just doesn't get the run support - Washington is 5-6 in his home starts, 2-5 past 7. Now Harper out... Skaggs got nice run support his last start, he's still shaking off the DL rust, his defense helped out a lot last game, Swaggy was far from dominant but he's getting there. Just might today, and Angels streaking, so taking under, and thinking Angels, as they been strong vs NL East...
Tampa Bay Toronto 7:07 Snell (Estrada - Snell been pretty steady of late, working on his mechanics and approach has paid off...Estrada too, been mixing up his pitch selection to something better, he should acquit himself better here vs slumping TB bats way better than he did earlier in season when everyone was hitting him ...like the under, and Toro bats more consistent of late and team 3.5 out of wild card, so looking at Toro to keep poor Snell winless this season.
San Francisco Miami 7:10 Bumgarner (Straily - sportsinsights claims steam move by sharps pushed the Fish line to a favorite today.....SF, ranking 28th in runs, is only 2-8 in MadBum's's starts this year, including 0-5 on the road, but Fish not seen him since 2015...Straily not been as sharp since All Star, but bit better of late and sports a 0.74 WHIP vs SF, most of that back when they could actually hit. Still, with all the talk of poor MadBum run support and the hot Miami bats, I see an 'over' here tonight, and Miami winning with better bats...
St. Louis Boston 7:10 Leake (Porcello - Leake's peripherals have long since caught up with him, he's not sporting the fine ERA from 1st half, and Porcello has not quite turned his season around yet (2 ER vs badly slumping TB after 4 and 5 ER efforts ain't got me convinced), so I'm once again riding that STL over streak (at 8 games straight now)...both bullpens poor of late...
Pitts Milwaukee 7:40 Nova (Davies - Nova reverted to his mess of a self of late, he'd have to get plenty run support to win today and I don't see that with Davies starting (who gets lots of run support), Davies been pretty good of late, more consistently better than Nova...so liking Milk and the over
Cincinnati Cubs 8:05 Castillo (Hendricks - Castillo keeps his team in games, but Hendricks (with a much better team behind him) doesn't win all that much either. Cubs always beat up on Reds at Wrigley and do need wins bad to keep pace....so I'm on Cubs, but that Cinci dog looks good nearly every day I look at it!
Detroit Texas 8:05 Verlander (Griffin - big pitching mismatch...Verlander seems back to his old self, and I don't wanna go against that...Cabrera is in today
Cleve Minnesota 8:10 Salazar (Colon - Salazar seems his old self with all those strike and aggressive approach. Tho he is worse vs lefties and he's got a bunch to contend with tonight.. Colon, despite what he's done recently, is still Colon. It is a bad travel spot (Cleve playing 7th straight day tonight, in 4th different city in that span), so I like that over...
Atlanta Colorado 8:40 Newcomb (Freeland - ATL have lost Newcomb's last 7 starts, despite him pitching ok, especially of late. he has a 4.28 FIP, and is rather hard to square up against, making HR less of an issue at Coors...Freeland off the minimum 10 day DL, and didn't pitch a whole bunch before that, imaging showed very limited damage in his groin pull, and CO is carefull with the young pitchers, so I believe it when they say he ready..He has 8 QS in his 10 home starts this season...CO hit lefties a lot better than ATL...Arenando is in today...so I'm on CO again, but don't like the face everyone else is too!
Kansas City Oakland 10:05 Hammel (Smith - wow, I read "Hammel has given up three runs or fewer in 11 of of his past 12 starts" tho plenty of those not very deep and this KC bullpen not what it used to be. But both pens have plenty of decent arms available tonight. KC streaking again, so I'm gonna ride it another night.
Baltimore Seattle 10:10 Miley (Albers - Albers been excellent at Triple-A Gwinnett, and ya gotta like the chances of a team to break 5 game losing streak with a leftie pitcher on a roll, with unorthodox style these batters not seen much of...Wade Miley ya just expect to melt down any minute...
Philadelphia San Diego 10:10 Leiter (Lamet - Leiter's been excellent out of the pen of late, should do well in this park...Lamet is throwing a lot more sliders as they say that's been his key to success in recent games (tho not all of them) I think his 2 pitch repitoire will continue to work fine tonight, in this park vs these Phillies bats, but I don't think it has a real bright future...on the under and on SD, as SD continues to play well at home...
Chi. White Sox Dodgers 10:10 Gonzalez (Wood - wow, Gonzalez, starting with 0-1 loss to Dodgers on 7/18/17, he's been good in 5 of 6 starts...Wood has been worse in that span, giving up HR especially, but his team has more wins with him because, well, you know...and CWS been hitting lefties well of late (and all season)....so I'm on LA Dodgers -1.5, and CWS +2.5 once again..
Since June 7th, the Dodgers are 48-9 (3 losses in June, 3 losses in July, 3 in August already). A bettor risking $100 on them each game would have won $1,675.
They've closed at -200 or higher 29 times in this span.
